      Six Films From Olympic Figure Skater Sonja Henie Highlight The Latest Collection of Films on DVD for the First Time Ever


      LOS ANGELES, CA (November 26, 2013) - Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment is releasing their latest selection of vintage films on DVD from their popular Fox Cinema Archives collection beginning today through December 17. Launched in 2012, the collection already includes more than 200 classic films drawing from the studio's deep vault of movies. The collection dives into the studio's rich catalog to resurrect some of the most memorable films from the 1930s, 40s and 50s.

      In the coming weeks, 12 essential titles will be added to Fox Cinema Archives, including classic romance, comedy and musical titles, giving film buffs the opportunity to enhance their collection by purchasing a variety of iconic films at major top-tier retailers. The release schedule for this wave of titles can be seen below.

      November 26

      Thin Ice (1937), 78 min.
      Olympic figure skater Sonja Henie stars in a romantic entanglement in the Alps between a beautiful skating instructor and a man who she suspects to be a tourist. Little does she know he is a prince escaping the pains of royal life. With a cast including Tyrone Power and Arthur Treacher, Thin Ice was nominated for an Academy Award® for Best Dance Direction.

      Wintertime (1943), 82 min.
      A Norwegian ice champion and her millionaire uncle invest in an old hotel that faces foreclosure and find love in the process. Olympic figure skater Sonja Henie and Golden Globe® nominee Cesar Romero1 lead a star-studded cast including S.Z. Sakall, Jack Oakie, Cornel Wilde and Carole Landis.

      You Can't Have Everything (1937), 99 min.
      From Academy Award®-winning director Norman Taurong2, this backstage musical follows a big producer who buys the play of a beautiful playwright to improve his romantic chances. Alice Faye and Don Ameche lead a noteworthy cast, featuring Charles Winninger and The Ritz Brothers.

      Young America (1932), 71 min.
      Art is an orphan in trouble with the law, who is given a second chance with the Dorays - a couple who own a pharmacy. However, when Art and his friend Nutty break into the drugstore to get medicine for Nutty's dying grandmother, the boy's motives are questioned. Academy Award® winner Spencer Tracy3 stars in the film with Doris Kenyon, Ralph Bellamy and Tommy Conlon.

      Iceland (1942), 79 min.
      John Payne plays a U.S. Marine who falls head over heels for figure skater Sonja Henie's graceful gliding in this ice-bound musical featuring the hit song “There Will Never Be Another You.” The film also features Jack Oakie and Sterling Holloway.

      December 10

      Love That Brute (1950), 85 min.
      In 1928 Chicago, a big shot gangster with a soft heart falls for a nice girl who doesn't realize that he's a racketeer. Directed by Academy Award® nominee Alexander Hall4, the film includes Paul Douglas, Jean Peters, Cesar Romero and Keenan Wynn.

      My Lucky Star (1938), 79 min.
      Sonja Henie and Cesar Romero star in a romantic comedy, in which a department store owner turns an attractive store clerk into his living mannequin by sending her off to college to promote his fashion ware. Richard Greene and Joan Davis also join this all-star cast.

      Thunder In The Valley (1947), 103 min.
      In the Scottish country side, a bedeviled father (Lon McCallister) and a son (Edmund Green), who has lost his mother, go through trials and tribulations as their beloved sheep dog is accused of mangling a local sheep.

      George White's 1935 Scandals (1935), 84 min.
      When George White, a Broadway producer, is lured into a small southern town he comes across a theatrical showing of his play. After seeing the play, he falls for one of its star singers and offers her a chance to come to New York City to work for him. A follow-up to George White's Scandals (1934), the film stars Alice Faye, James Dunn, Ned Sparks and Eleanor Powell.

      December 17

      One In A Million (1937), 95 min.
      An American theatrical manager discovers a Swiss skater preparing for the Olympics in Switzerland and brings her to Madison Square Garden to make her a star on the ice show circuit. The Hollywood debut of Sonja Henie, this Academy Award®-nominated5 film features Adolphe Menjou, and Don Ameche with The Ritz Brothers.

      Happy Landing (1938), 102 min.
      Two Americans, a flying bandleader and his manager, make a forced "happy landing" in Norway and find themselves enchanted by a lovely, young figure skater. Happy Landing, starring Sonja Henie, Don Ameche, Jean Hersholt and Cesar Romero, is full of romance, music, song, and plenty of expert ice skating.

      Beneath The 12 Mile Reef (1953), 102 min.
      Beneath The 12 Mile Reef is a Romeo-and-Juliet tale about the Petrakis father and son team who dive for sponges off the coast of Key West. When their normal catch no longer produces enough sponges, the Petrakis family encounters dangerous competition with the Rhys family that leads to violence in order to maintain their established fishing grounds along the 1-mile reef. Meanwhile, a love emerges between the son Tony Petrakis (Robert Wagner) and the rival daughter Gwyneth Rhys (Terry Moore). The film received an Academy Award® nomination for Best Cinematography.

        Island in the Sky (1938), 67 min.
        Academy Award®-nominated actress2 Gloria Stuart plays Julie Hayes, a woman convinced the man her fiancé, Michael Fraser, Asst. D.A. (Michael Whalen) helped convict of murder is innocent of the crime. Julie postpones their wedding, and then seeks a former gangster to help save the life of the innocent man.

        The Glory Brigade (1953), 81 min.
        Victor Mature, Alexander Scourby and Richard Egan star in Robert D. Webb's Golden Globe -winning film3. During the Korean War, a Greek-American Lieutenant wrongly blames the Greek troops he has volunteered to lead for the death of his own men.

        In Otto Preminger's screwball comedy, an ineffectual attorney must convince an eccentric family to close an important land deal and ends up marrying the only sane member of the bunch. The film stars Academy Award®-nominated actress4 Ann Sothern with Jack Haley and Edward Everett Horton.

        Home in Indiana (1944), 103 min.
        Lon McCallister plays a teenager with a penchant for trouble sent to live with his aunt and uncle in Indiana, where he discovers a love for horses. Based on George Agnew's story The Phantom Filly, this Academy Award®-nominated film5 also stars Walter Brennan, Jeanne Crain, June Haver and Charlotte Greenwood.

        City of Bad Men (1953), 81 min.
        In Harmon Jones' Western film, gangs of outlaws converge on 1897 Carson City, planning to rob the box office of a high profile prizefight. The noteworthy cast includes Dale Robertson, Jeanne Crain and Richard Boone.

        Pride of St. Louis (1952), 92 min.
        A biopic based on the life of Major League Baseball Hall of Fame pitching ace 'Dizzy' Dean, following his bumpy rise from minor leaguer to World Series great, to beloved broadcaster. This Academy Award®-nominated film6 stars Dan Dailey as Dizzy Dean.

        Follow the Sun (1951), 93 min.
        Glenn Ford plays Ben Hogan in the inspiring biographical film of the golf legend. The film also stars Anne Baxter and many sports figures of the day, including Jimmy Demaret, Carry Middlecoff, Grantland Rice and Sam Snead.

        Five Fingers (1952), 107 min.
        The valet to the British ambassador in Turkey during WWII decides to improve his lot by selling his employer's top-secret documents to the Nazis in this classic spy film starring James Mason. Based on the true story of Elyesa Bazna, one of the most famous spies of World War II, the film was nominated for two7 Academy Awards®.

        The Great Profile (1940), 70 min.
        John Barrymore stars in this semi-autobiographical film about the dysfunctional life of a self-destructive actor. Directed by Academy Award®-nominated director8 Walter Lang, the film stars John Barrymore and John Payne.

        Margin for Error (1943), 74 min.
        When a Nazi consul who was embezzling funds from the German consulate turns up dead, a Jewish policeman exonerates his wife and partner of the crime. Otto Preminger, Joan Bennett and Milton Berle star in this adaptation of the 1939 play of the same title by Claire Boothe Luce.

        Mother Wore Tights (1947), 107 min.
        Dan Dailey and Betty Grable star as a young man and woman, whom team up as performers during the age of vaudeville and soon fall in love. The story of their rise to fame, and the subsequent professional and personal setbacks, is told in flashback and set against a rousing musical score.

        Wild on the Beach (1965), 76 min.
        Its Spring Break 60s style as two unfamiliar groups of college kids, one male and the other female, arrive at the same beach house on the same weekend. Featuring memorable musical acts, Wild on the Beach is also the film debut of Sonny & Cher.

        Sing, Baby, Sing (1936), 87 min.
        At the insistence of her manager, a nightclub singer tricks a drunken movie star into thinking they've had a relationship. The musical features Alice Faye, Adolphe Menjou and Gregory Ratoff.

          I'd Climb The Highest Mountain (1951), 87 min.
          This simple story directed by Henry King follows a Methodist minister called to a rural Georgia mountain community. There he and his city-bred wife use their love to help a small town find God. Susan Hayward, William Lundigan, Rory Calhoun and Barbara Bates star in the film.

          April 1

          The Gay Deception (1935), 76 min.
          Ecstatic over her winnings in a sweepstakes, a woman heads for New York City to make her dreams come true. This Oscar®-nominated1 film stars Francis Lederer, Alan Mowbray, Benita Hume and Frances Dee.

          Bachelor Flat (1961), 87 min.
          British Anthropology Professor Bruce Patterson moves into his fiancée Helen's apartment to get away from pursuant female college students. His plan to scare the girls away backfires when his fiancée's daughter, Libby, arrives home incognito. Bachelor Flat stars Terry Thomas, Celeste Holm, Richard Beymer and Tuesday Weld.

          The Marriage of a Young Stockbroker (1971), 95 min.
          Richard Benjamin plays a stockbroker who is bored with his marriage and job and tries to spice his life up. In order to deal with this dilemma, he becomes a peeping Tom much to the chagrin of his wife. Benjamin stars alongside Joanna Shimkus, Elizabeth Ashley, Patricia Barry and Adam West.

          April 8

          The Pleasure Seekers (1964), 106 min.
          In a remake of the 1954 hit Three Coins in the Fountain, The Pleasure Seekers tells the story of three women searching for love in Madrid. As the story unfolds, the women find themselves in bad relationships. Ann Margret, Carol Lynley, Gene Tierney and Anthony Franciosa star in this Oscar®-nominated2 film.

          Footlight Serenade (1942), 80 min.
          When a boxing champ turned Broadway star falls in love with his married co-star, he goes too far and causes her jealous husband to seek revenge. The film stars John Payne, Betty Grable and Victor Mature.

          Marry The Boss's Daughter (1941), 59 min.
          Jefferson Cole, a young man from Kansas, ventures to New York in search of a bright career in the city. When he meets the daughter of a city tycoon, she persuades her father to give him a job, so he can find what he is capable of.           Scudda Hoo! Scudda Hay! (1948), 95 min.
          Scudda Hoo! Scudda Hay! is an old-style romance about a Midwest farmhand who gets more than he bargained in his new job. He buys a pair of strapping mules from his employer. Meanwhile, his boss' daughter keeps him guessing about her true feelings. June Haver, Lon McCallister, Walter Brennan and Natalie Wood star in this 1948 classic.

          That Other Woman (1942), 76 min.
          A secretary by the name of Emily Borden comes up with a convoluted plan to get her boss to marry her, which backfires after some bad advice. That Other Woman stars Virginia Gilmore, James Ellison and Dan Duryea.

          Good Morning, Miss Dove (1955), 107 min.
          While she rehabilitates in the hospital, Miss Dove, an aging teacher, recollects some of the students who have passed through her classroom over the years. Jennifer Jones, Robert Stack, Kipp Hamilton and Peggy Knudsen star in Good Morning, Miss Dove.

          Star Dust (1940), 85 min.
          Star Dust is loosely based on the true story of actress Linda Darnell's rise to fame. Linda plays a young actress with talent to spare, who is helped on her rise to stardom by those around her. John Payne, Roland Young and Charlotte Greenwood also star in the film.

          Decline and Fall of A Bird Watcher (1968), 112 min.
          This satire from a novel by Evelyn Waugh, tells a story of young British teacher Paul Pennyfeather after he is dismissed from Oxford. Eventually, he works his way into the private school system in Wales where he becomes involved with Margot Beste-Chetwynde, the glamorous mother of one of his pupils. Robin Phillips, Michael Elwyn, Norman Scace and Genevií¨ve Page star in this 1968 classic.

          April 25

          Kentucky (1938), 96 min.
          Based on the novel, "The Look of Eagles," the film tells the story of the feud between two Kentuckian families that begins during the civil war and lasts for three generations. The feud ends when the two family heirs fall in love eighty years later. Loretta Young, Richard Greene, Douglas Dumbrille, Karen Morley and Oscar® winner3 Walter Brennan star in Kentucky.

          Forever Amber (1947), 138 min.
          Amber, a woman confined by her Puritan upbringing, ventures to London where she finds a better life as a courtesan. Linda Darnell, Cornel Wilde, Richard Greene and George Sanders star in this Oscar®-nominated4 film.

              The best of classic cinema will be on full display in this eclectic collection of key dramas, comedies, romances, biographies, crime dramas, action and adventure thrillers from the Fox Cinema Archives vault. Collection highlights include films, such as four-time Academy Award nominated The Affairs of Cellini and Colonel Effingham's Raid - both perfect additions to any film buff's collection!

              The Jones family is full of excitement when their Aunt Ida's farm is chosen for a cornhusking contest. Meanwhile, Pa Jones gets involved in the local politics. Jed Prouty, Spring Byington, Louise Fazenda and Russell Gleason star in this 1938 classic.

              Everything Happens At Night (1939), 77 min.
              Two competing reporters, one British and one American, discover a supposedly assassinated political peacekeeper and his ice skating daughter. As both of them compete for the story, they are sidetracked in pursuing their affection. They soon become in danger when they inadvertently reveal the peacekeeper's location. Sonja Henie, Ray Milland, and Robert Cummings star in this 1939 classic.

              Five Of A Kind (1938), 85 min.
              In this romantic comedy, the four-and-a-half year old Dionne quintuplets play the talented and charming Wyatt Quintuplets. Jean Hersholt, Claire Trevor, and Cesar Romero also star in this story that revolves around singing, dancing, playing with puppies, and being charming.

              The Affairs of Cellini (1934), 79 min.
              Frederic March stars in The Affairs of Cellini - a four-time Academy Award-nominated* biographic film about the 16th century sculptor Benvenuto Cellini. Set in the rich lushness of the Florence Renaissance, the film tells the story of an artist who woos the town Duchess.               Alex & The Gypsy (1976), 99 min.
              An aging bondsman posts bail for his former gypsy lover, after she is accused of stabbing her husband - even though he doubts her loyalty. Jack Lemmon, Genevií¨ve Bujold and James woods star in Alex and the Gypsy.

              Call Her Savage (1932), 88 min.
              A fiery-tempered, impulsive young girl enters into a brief, but unsatisfactory marriage with a drunkard. After inheriting a fortune, she goes to New York. How she came by her fiendish temper and her choice for a second husband are learned in a surprising climax based on a novel by Tiffany Thayer. Clara Bow, Gilbert Roland and Thelma Todd star in this 1932 classic.

              August 5

              Gateway (1938), 75 min.
              A war correspondent returning to America on an ocean liner meets an Irish girl who is sailing to meet her fiancé in America. On the voyage, a lecherous old man attempts to molest her and is injured when she pushes him away. He brings charges against her and she is detained at Ellis Island. Charges are finally cleared when the correspondent comes to her defense. Don Ameche, Arleen Whelan, Gregory Ratoff, Binnie Barnes and Gilbert Roland star in this 1938 classic.

              Champagne Charlie (1936), 59 min.
              When smooth talking unethical gambler “Champagne Charlie” Courtland tries to recover a debt, his backers hope for a large payout. In the meantime, he begins courting a young heiress. In this tale told backwards, the plot keeps viewers guessing someone murdered Charlie in the beginning. Paul Cavanagh, Helen Wood and Thomas Beck star in this 1936 classic.

              August 12

              The Girl On The Bridge (1951), 75 min.
              Saved from suicide by a kindly old watchmaker, an unwed mother takes a job at the store and eventually accepts the watchmaker's marriage proposal. Their happiness is shattered when two unsavory men from her past show up and blackmail the couple. Hugo Haas, Beverly Michaels, Robert Dane and Anthony Jochim star in The Girl On The Bridge.

              Fighting Back (1948), 61 min.
              Fighting Back is the story of Nick Sanders, a former GI honorably discharged from the Army with a pardon on his former crimes. When he returns home, he comes back to his wife and son. However, his former past rears its ugly head when a former acquaintance, Sam Lang, imposes on his life. Paul Langton, Jean Rogers, Gary Gray, Joe Sawyer and John Kellogg star in this 1948 classic.

              Air Patrol (1962), 70 min.
              After a thief steels a valuable Fragonard painting and takes off in a helicopter, its owner agrees to pay a ransom. Los Angeles Detective Sgt. Castle and his two partners investigate. Willard Parker, Merry Anders, Robert Dix, John Holland and Russ Bender star in Air Patrol.
