    Blu-ray release on 30 September 2019
    2-disc set

Banned, censored and reviled the world over since its release, Salí² was Pasolini's final and most controversial masterpiece. The content and imagery is extreme, retaining the power to shock, repel and distress. But it remains a cinematic milestone: culturally significant, politically vital and visually stunning.

On 30 September 2019 the BFI will release Salí² on Blu-ray utilising a High Definition master new to the UK. Special features for this release include a new commentary by Kat Ellinger.

Based on a novel by the Marquis de Sade, Salí² is a film about power, corruption, and the degradation of the human body; a devastating, angry cry from one of the most controversial auteurs in cinema history.

    Special features

Original Italian language, and alternative English language versions
Newly recorded audio commentary by film critic and editor-in-chief of Diabolique magazine, Kat Ellinger
'OSTIA (The Death of Pasolini)' Coil's 1986 track with video accompaniment from 2008
Open Your Eyes! (2008, 22 mins): Pasolini and his actors at work on the set of Salí²
Walking with Pasolini (2008, 22 mins): documentary featuring Neil Bartlett and Noam Chomsky
Whoever Says the Truth Shall Die (1981, 101 mins): classic documentary on the life and death of Pasolini

Ostia (1987, 27 mins): features Derek Jarman, and also includes optional audio commentary
The End of Salí² (2008, 40 mins): documentary looking at the film's production
Enfants de Salí² (2009, 18 mins): French filmmakers including Gaspar Noé deconstruct Salí²

Is this using the Criterion master, anyone know? The old BFI looked rather rough.

I am going to assume that both BFI's "Salo" and BFI's "Trilogy of Life" will be using Criterion's masters based on the wording( "high definition master new to the UK"). Regarding "Salo", there was a restored version released( played theatrically in a couple of festivals I believe) back in 2015, but from what I understand, it looked really bad( it was done by Cineteca di Bologna and L'immagine Ritrovata).

Anyone know if the 17 sec scene, that was in the original BFI release & NOT present in the Criterion release is present in this BFI Re-release?

According to the review, it is. If you scroll down to the end of the review, you'll see a screenshot from that brief scene-
