Interesting concept on this one. Essentially, blocks are placed upon the brains of employees of a drug company. Their memory gets split two ways so that when they're at work they know nothing of their life outside work and when they are at home they have no memory of the workplace. It's a neat little Phillip K Dick style setup and it quickly maps out how nightmarish this is. Imagine being on the work side of the brain. You leave work and then all of a sudden your arriving at work again with no memory of anything in between. A permanent 9 to 5 with none of the other hours to make it bearable. The other side sounds alright. A life where your supported without working. But you've still gotta wonder what your body is up to while you're not there.
It's probably a bit too quirky for me. I'd like it to be strange. Particularly with how many revelations it gives in the first few episodes, I expected it to go deeper quickly but it starts to just kind of coast. Still, interesting. Great cast. Walken, Tuturro. Particia Arquette is killing it. It is also notable for providing Apple with their first tv drama critical success. 97% on Rotten Tomatoes right now. After a string of duds, or just underwhelming productions, I imagine there must be celebrations in the halls Over There.
