  • Parris Mayhew (from Cro-Mags, but way nicer and cooler than the other two lunkheads associated with that band) is a camera op on Dead City and has been posting a lot of shots. I'd like to be more enthused, but given the Walking Dead...I can't be.

      OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS

Teddy (John Glover) brought about his vision of “The End” when he detonated nuclear warheads across the Texas landscape, but it will be up to the survivors to decide what “The Beginning” will look like. In this world devoid of light and hope, where the outside air is just as deadly as the walkers they face, the ones who lived will find out who they really are and what they’re really made of. Some will rise to the occasion. Others will find new purpose. Still others will redefine themselves – even if it comes at a terrible cost to those they once considered family.

      • So with the main show being over now was I right in giving up a few years back? Last episode I remember seeing was when the Whisperers killed Jesus.

        Comment

        • Yes. The last few years were abysmal. And the finale was godawful. They should have ended the show the year they killed Steven Yeun's character off.

          Comment

          • The finale wasn't great, but the first 20 minutes were exciting. It wasn't really an ending, more of a set-up for the new shows coming next year.
Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome? Why did you watch it, Max?

I disagree. Negan's character arc is what kept the show interesting for me. Dead City is really the only show I'm looking forward to because he's in it.

We'll have to agree to disagree. I like Jeffery Dean Morgan, but the show was just too repetitive to sustain the amount of seasons it ultimately ran.

Even though it is far from perfect, I think the last few seasons of Fear the Walking Dead have been much more entertaining than the original.

That was peak Walking Dead. It would have taken balls to kill it off then. Continuing it on past the "death" of Rick though was stupid. It was his show. End it with his death and then advertise the two hundred and fifty spin offs you have coming. That show was literally trying to reboot itself on a monthly basis (or shorter) at one point. They tried to squeeze too many eggs from their golden goose and wound up looking stupid.

Not sure I'll even have a look at the spin offs going forward. I gave Fear a go. It was largely a mess and I jumped shipped when it started rebooting constantly ala the original. Didn't give World Beyond a look. No one's telling me I made a mistake.

A Neegan series sounds like a thing but that character got dragged through the mud. Not sure that has the impact it would have had 4 years ago.

A Rick series? We already had one of those. That just feel like a cynical cash grab from everyone. Ricks already indicated he's done his time.

A Daryl series? How many years can a man play one character? He was always, imho, a very overrated character anyway.

PASADENA, CA - January 10, 2023 - AMC Networks announced today premiere timing for four series in The Walking Dead Universe, along with a first look at Fear the Walking Dead's eighth and final season. Fear will roll out in two six-episode parts, the first of which begins Sunday, May 14 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on AMC and AMC+ and return for its final six episodes later this year. New spin-off series The Walking Dead: Dead City, starring Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, will premiere in June followed by The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, led by Norman Reedus, later this year. Additionally, the spin-off starring Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira as beloved TWD characters Rick Grimes and Michonne, will go into production this year and premiere in 2024.

"It's a truly exciting year for The Walking Dead Universe, as we conclude an epic journey on Fear the Walking Dead, which became one of the most successful shows in the history of cable television. And now we are set to bring forth the next iteration of the franchise - two new and anticipated series featuring the beloved characters of Maggie, Negan and Daryl. Along with that we begin production on the next chapter in Rick and Michonne's unforgettable love story, which we look forward to sharing next year," said Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios at AMC Networks. "This next phase of our beloved Walking Dead franchise promises to engage and enthrall faithful viewers. Fans new and old will love seeing zombies walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, beneath the Eiffel Tower, inside the Louvre, and at dozens more exotic and iconic locations from around the country and world."

Scott M. Gimple, chief content officer of The Walking Dead Universe said, "The Walking Dead Universe LIVES! To conclude Fear the Walking Dead, we're thrilled to be bringing you one of its most vibrant, inventive, exciting seasons EVER, while breaking new ground with old favorites: Maggie and Negan in the madhouse of post-apocalyptic Manhattan with no one to depend on but each other... Daryl Dixon in France, a loner who cannot move through this new dangerous world alone, facing vicious enemies and never-seen-before threats of the undead. And Rick and Michonne, in a romantic saga of the dangerous road to each other, and the road they must find with each other, cornered by a new civilization and hordes of the dead. Lauren Cohan, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, showrunner Eli Jorné, Norman Reedus, showrunner David Zabel, Danai Gurira, and Andrew Lincoln are creating heart-wrenching, heart-pounding magic for the next phase of the TWDU!"

The eighth season of Fear begins after the conclusion of Season 7, when Morgan's (Lennie James) and Madison's (Kim Dickens) hopes to rescue Mo from PADRE did not go as planned. Now, Morgan, Madison and the others they brought to the island are living under PADRE's cynical rule. With our characters demoralized and dejected, the task of reigniting belief in a better world rests with the person Morgan and Madison set out to rescue in the first place -- Morgan's daughter, Mo.  Fear the Walking Dead stars James, Dickens, Colman Domingo, Danay Garcia, Austin Amelio, Christine Evangelista, Karen David, Jenna Elfman and Rubén Blades. It is executive produced by Gimple, Showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg, Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero, Michael Satrazemis and David Alpert and is produced by AMC Studios.

The Walking Dead: Dead City follows Maggie (Cohan) and Negan (Morgan) traveling into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan long ago cut off from the mainland. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror. In addition to Cohan and Morgan, the series stars Gaius Charles, Zeljko Ivanek, Karina Ortiz, Jonathan Higginbotham and Mahina Napoleon with Gimple, Showrunner Eli Jorné, Cohan, Morgan and Brian Bockrath as executive producers.

In The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, Daryl (Reedus) washes ashore in France and struggles to piece together how he got there and why. The series tracks his journey across a broken but resilient France as he hopes to find a way back home. As he makes the journey, though, the connections he forms along the way complicate his ultimate plan. The series stars Reedus, Clémence Poésy and Adam Nagaitisand is executive produced by Gimple, Showrunner David Zabel, Reedus, Greg Nicotero, Angela Kang, Brian Bockrath and Daniel Percival.

Lincoln and Gurira reunite for a new spinoff series that will finally continue the journey of Rick Grimes and Michonne characters. This series presents an epic love story of two characters changed by a changed world. Kept apart by distance. By an unstoppable power. By the ghosts of who they were. Rick and Michonne are thrown into another world, built on a war against the dead... And ultimately, a war against the living. Can they find each other and who they were in a place and situation unlike any they've ever known before? Are they enemies? Lovers? Victims? Victors? Without each other, are they even alive -- or will they find that they, too, are the Walking Dead? Gimple serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Lincoln and Gurira.
