  • Neil Gaiman's Sandman Coming To Netflix

    So says The Hollywood Reporter.

"Neil Gaiman's beloved Vertigo comic Sandman is finally coming to the screen.

More than three years after New Line's failed attempt to turn the graphic novel into a feature film, Netflix has signed what sources describe as a massive financial deal with Warner Bros. Television to adapt the best-seller into a live-action TV series. Sources familiar with the pact note it is the most expensive TV series that DC Entertainment has ever done.

Allan Heinberg (Wonder Woman, ABC's The Catch, Grey's Anatomy) is set to write and serve as showrunner on the straight-to-series drama. Gaiman, who created the ongoing monthly comic, will executive produce alongside David Goyer. Gaiman and Goyer were both attached to New Line's most recent attempts to adapt Sandman for the big screen."

Since most DC shows appear to have a budget of about $57 per episode, how hard can it be to be the most expensive DC show?

Oh well, three seasons of Sandman, here we come!

It is odd Vertigo as TV shows has a good record.

Constantine was damn good for being on a major network. It being on Fridays killed it.
Preacher is damn good but ending after season 4.
      iZombie I hear is good.
Lucifer is entertaining, sure it is very different from the comic. But I am still surprised Fox took a chance on a show with the devil as the lead for what 3 years before it made the jump to Netflix.
Doom Patrol is fucking great. I hope it gets 10 seasons.
Swamp Thing,USA live action show was decent,Cartoon was ok. The new show looks good but is a one season wonder .

Sandman might be good But I rather have gotten a Fables,Animal Man,100 Bullets or Y tv show before Sandman.

iZombie is surprisingly good, no idea how faithful to the comic it may be. Constantine was awesome by the end of the season, too bad NBC are morons. Lucifer's first two episodes were great, but then someone other than Gaiman was writing and it turned to shit.

Neil Gaiman confirms Netflix Sandman series really does exist (seems like some thought it would get the axe given the rash of Netflix cancellations just announced).

I got the invite code to watch the first episode today. Im excited and worried- growing up it was one of my 'big three' comics and while it looks amazing... Netflix usually does me dirty, and then there's American Gods.
