Hadn't heard of SENNENTUNTSCHI before, sounds pretty intersting.

Watched another couple of titles on Tubi TV that weren't available for free on my other services: the neo-giallo FRANCESCA and the 2007 David Bruckner flick THE SIGNAL.

I also watched ANNA (aka MINDSCAPE) for free on IMDb TV. They have even less commercials. Ads appeared 3 times throughout the duration of the film for a total of about 2 minutes.

Just wanted to offer a caveat re: Tubi TV. Apparently their "queue" has a limit on how many titles it can hold. So if you're an idiot (like me) and go through their entire horror listing, adding any movie that sounds interesting to the queue, when you come back later, you'll find that it stopped saving them at 100. Bummer...

After wanting to see them for a few years,I don't know why,I see that Witchcraft 14,15 and 16 are on Tubi. Started up 16. Whoever wrote this is a fan of Vista Street entertainment. There is piles of inside jokes. And they even used footage from Witchcraft 11 Sisters in Blood, but said it was from the fictional Crystal Force 12.

Another movie I watched recently is Deodato's BALLAD IN BLOOD (2016). On Amazon Prime Video, it was choppy as hell, pretty blatantly cut, while the version on Tubi TV seemed uncut.

I also wanted to mention there's another free app being offered called Pluto, which includes advertising. I watched a movie on it, and the ads seemed a bit more frequent than Tubi TV, plus unlike Tubi, you get no warning that they're starting. The commercial just begins running, almost as if it's part of the film! Worst of all, you can't FF through the film to get past them. If you try, it just stops everywhere an ad is configured to run (which, to be fair, you can detect if you look for the marks on the progress bar).

Oh, and just wanted to throw out that I noticed this week a lot of the Amazon Prime Videos I have in my watchlist that had been free are now indicating they're available with a 30-day free trial of Prime. Because I already signed up for a 1-year membership, the option to watch them (for free, anyway) is no longer available. Bummer...

PLutoTV is great. Works perfect for background noise when I am cleaning the house.

I use Tubi TV every now and then as they have a few old school kung fu and martial arts flicks on there & some of the Well Go HK stuff. Just have it on in the background because the commercial breaks are annoying (how many times are they going to show that Foster Farms chicken one?!) and squeeze the flick within the scheduled run time, so obviously with all the commercial breaks they are going to speed up the movie & edit the film to do so.

I think the ads must be selected regionally, as I've never seen that one.

You're probably right. Also, you're very fortunate because it seems they play this goddamn commercial 5x during a single movie.

The regional theory would seem to be the case. I'm fortunate enough that for me in Melbourne that Tubi briefly puts up a screen that says it's going to play an ad, then it pinwheels briefly then it plays the show. No ads. I was assuming this was because no ones bought any ads for this region.

Last week I watched another movie on Pluto that wasn't free anywhere else (SEVERANCE, 2006). There were 10 commercial breaks, each of which started without any warning, and a few of the blocks were at least 2 minutes long. That will likely be the last movie I will watch using that service.

And just wanted to give an update on that weird thing Amazon Prime Video was doing, which was offering some of its formerly free movies without cost only to those signing up for a 30-day trial. That is now over, and the movies were returned to the free category.

Thanks for passing on that info, Ian. I've only seen LION MAN, so I look forward to watching the AGFA version of that film.

Tubi seems to get a lot of stuff from the smaller labels.
