Watched the first episode last night and thought it was decent. I hope Ivy gets a nice royalty check for Teenage Werewolf and Fever working their way onto the soundtrack.

No spoilers. That was a damned good season of tv. Maybe the best of the year though Ozark was amazing, that ones hard to top and I assume these are just pretenders to the throne with Succession coming up shortly anyway. That last 2 hour 20 episode was a bit of an endurance test, frankly a little too much of a good thing. It got a touch Marvel there for a bit with people throwing each other into walls.
Interesting spot to leave it on. Not too sure how they pick it up from there particularly given there's talk of a time jump between seasons to account for the aging teens."Never let the fact that they are doing it wrong stop you from doing it right." Hyman Mandell.

There's also a spinoff in the works.

The rewatch confirmed my initial impressions. Season 1 is a great start but really lives on the nostalgia in a way that's more cloying than the rest of the seasons. Winona's crying a lot and that's not fun. It all feels a bit serious. Season 2 is a step up. Steve becoming a major player and teaming up with Dustin was a masterstroke. It's the Aliens of the series. Bigger and with more killable monsters. Huge soft spot for Season 3. May be the best season. I love the lighter tone on this one. Loses some points for how ridiculously easy it is to move around that super secret Russian base. Season 4 could have gone full parody but instead takes a welcome u-turn into horror. Beginning to wallow in itself a bit maybe but they've kind of earnt it at this point so I'll allow it.

A bit of a (very vague) tease for season five.

Pretty sad when West end theatres need to have TV and film adaptions/spin offs to stay afloat. You liked the TV show? Now go and see it with a bunch of worse, shouty actors, unconvincing sets and painful seats at £100 a ticket. Bargain.I'm bitter, I'm twisted, James Joyce is fucking my sister.
