Great shots! Sorry Numbnuts blew everything up for you, but it sounds like you landed on your feet.

My last shots in my current photo studio. Anyone who happened to follow my thread about opening a bar might remember that originally we took on the lease of a whole building. We had a bar on the ground floor, the upstairs serving as a photography/dance studio. Anyway, when we closed the bar we kept the studios on the first floor. Said bar was taken on by a celebrity chef you probably know of but who shall remain nameless here because lawsuits are flying. Lets just call him Numbnuts. Anyway, Numbnuts looks at the crumbling interior of this 120 year old building and decides to hang a floating ceiling off the ancient rafters of the current ceiling. He succeeds only in ripping out the roof of his new restaurant. Sadly that roof was also our floor. Council comes in, all but condemns the building and gives us our marching orders giving 6 weeks to find a new home home and turn into a dance studio before the next dance term starts. Which, somehow, we pulled off, even if the paint was still drying as the first students arrived. The last activity in the old studio before it all came crashing down was this photoshoot day where I shot 18 clients over an epic 7 hours:

    And the new photography/dance studio:

    That first shot is impressive.

I love the background for that 2 and fourth shot. What I'd give for a photo session with my mrs on a set like that.

I was happy with this one. Theres a couple girls on either side of Penelope throwing the dressing gown about, I took a bunch of these shots but with those ones I never really know if I've got it till I get it into photoshop.

I don't want to make it sound like drudgery. I'm aware I'm lucky to have this as fallback income. The hours working on this stuff does rack up though, particularly at the moment as I'm slow from lack of practice. Each image is taking about 15 minutes to edit, which is a long time to be working on one picture. And that's ideally. Sometimes I get weird requests that wind up dragging it out. Spent a ot of time over the last couple days removing nipples, vaginas, and buttholes. Which sound like fun but believe me it's very abstract, finnicky, annoying work when you're down to the pixel level.

Great job capturing the drapery on that first shot. They're all great, but that one stands out to me.

I haven't had the chance to be posting much recently. Mostly because I've been working like to dog to fund expensive new habits.

I wasn't sure if I was ever going to return to studio photography but finances ultimately demanded it. Shot 20 clients in a day recently and then spent a few days doubled up with back pain for my efforts. It's been a gnarly experience teaching myself photoshop again after not uysing it in anger for 4 years or so but it's coming back to me:

Once a year the students are kicked off stage and the teachers strut their stuff. It's suppossed to be all of them, which is about 15 or 16 at the moment I think, but Covid rolled through the school days before and cut the ranks down to about 8 or 9. I did a very bad job filming this one. After lockdowns and then living in the country sometimes crowds get me and such was the case on this night. Still it cut together okay:

Shooting some Halloween themed dance tutorials allowed me to get my Bava/Argento lighting game on.
