Sometimes after an hour the heron allows me to move around and does not just fly straight up over the falls & outta there.

I've got some pictures of a heron I took on a trip to Canada a few summers back, he was lounging about just off shore of the lake we were at, but I wasn't able to get as close as it appears you did. They really are gorgeous animals.
Still, I'll look for the pictures and, if I can find them, post them here.Rock! Shock! Pop!

This was a TFP shoot. TFP is where you shoot for free for "exposure". Exposure has a very bad name in the photography world but I'm a huge believer in it. It's just another name, after all, for free advertising. That said I don't usually shoot TFP anymore as I don't really want advertising. In this case though it was a latex shoot and my film, which is very much on the horizon, will need latex. Trade for trade is more interesting. So I did the shoot. Spent a couple hours shooting all the models individually. I started packing down when I was asked "oh can you just take some shots of us together". Sure I said and switched my camera to auto and started snapping away thinking these were for their instas. After getting some strange looks I twigged that these were supposed to be professional. But all my lights were packed away and no way was I recontructing all the modifers I use. i was knackered. So I pulled one single strobe from it's bag, aimed it at the models as a bare uncovered light and bang! Was stunned to get home later and find it worked. Why do I spend so much on lighting gear again?

Insanely big night of shooting. The burlesque school my girlfriend runs for would be showgirls has a showcase night where the girls get to strut their stuff on a real stage every 10 weeks or so. It's become a stupidly big thing with, at last nights one, 120 performers and over 500 people watching. Meanwhile I have to make sure I get at least one good shot of all those girls, in all their costume iterations, meaning I wind up taking 3000+ images. Culling them in Lightroom is the worst.

Not a photo obviously but I consider a render to be a photo. Just animating the opening credits to my porno. Currently the sky is added in post so there's nothing in the sky to reflect onto the buildings and the cars which will add the last layer of realism. Once the scene has a true sky then the cars will carry all clouds reflections etc you'd expect and it be 100% better. For this film I'm aiming for something somewhere between high quality tv and mid level Hollywood film for the quality of the effects. Which is time consuming in the extreme for one man.Last edited by Dom D; 10-11-2019, 04:49 AM."Never let the fact that they are doing it wrong stop you from doing it right." Hyman Mandell.

I dig this image because the request from the client was super tough. She wanted to be believably within the Korova Milkbar. An absolute bitch of a request because that enviroment is unique. You can't pull stills from the film as the resolutionis too low for it and nothing else looks like the Milkbar and so it needs to be built from scratch. I think I did alright.
