MIKE! To be honest, I haven't played with it all too much. I got it like RIGHT before I went into a funk (non playing funk, not a sadness funk). I wish I could give you a good review of it, but I wouldn't feel comfortable. It looks like it'll be really useful, but I haven't put the time in. Plus, I got mine and was completely into an Effectron II rack delay, so I was constantly trying to use them together and not being a good boy and experimenting properly. So for now, I'd keep on with the sleazy posters!
I was messing around for about two hours today to test out the ring mod and a Tascam portastudio I picked up. I was totally pumped to record a new track and have the recording sound better than the older ones. However, numbnuts got overwhelmed, relied too heavily on stuff that I shouldn't've and ended up with nothing. Maybe a good drunken night will clear my mind and I can dig in again on Monday.
Argh. Such a fuckin' disappointment. I had been looking forward to wailing all week.
No problem and thanks for the rundown. I've been following your sound exploits here and there when I check in. I will hold off for now until your proper review! Also, after looking at this thread and doing some other research/reading, I am now going to have to buy an Eventide Space! I think I need one! So, thanks for taking money from my pocket and wasting it anyway.
Getting better everyday. I've looked at fuzz builds before and have contemplated it. Plus, if they come with the box, yoi hoi. I won't have to build one into an old dildo box. Although...
How is that Jomox Resonator that I covet so profoundly. Really ultra-useful in dozens of ways or so uncontrollably crazy that it's on its own? I can never decide but I need the honest goods before I commit sleazy poster money towards it.

Paul, if you're handy with a soldering iron...actually, you don't have to be handy, just barely competent....go to www.generalguitargadgets.com and check out their complete kits in the fuzz section. I've built two of their pedals so far, a Ram's Head Big Muff and a Silicon Fuzzface clone, just over 100 dollars for both. On average, they're around 50 bucks a build. I like doing it even though i don't have the most patience...the fuzzface (silicon build) was easy. Took about an hour or so to put it together. It's a cheap way to get effects.
Two prostitutes are standing on a street corner. One says to the other, "Have you ever been picked up by the fuzz?"
The other replies, "No, but I've been swung around by the tits!"
I should get a fuzz pedal soon. If it ain't one thing, it's a motherfuckin' 'nother.
The Merkins are cool fuzz pedals. But i'm not dropping 150 bucks on a basic circuit.
As for germanium vs. silicon, well...I like a lot of germanium fuzz. Black Monk Time (germanium Maestro fuzz) and early early Floyd (germanium Fuzz Face), not to mention the germanium Fuzzrite...great sounds. But I'm definitely overall into the BC108 silicon sound...DSOTM era Floyd, and more of the modern fuzz. And it's more stable than germanium. I can't be bothered building a fuzz with bias control, i'm way too lazy.
NOW, have you tried the MI Electronics Crunch Box? Marshall city!!!!
I checked out some demos. Sounds pretty good. I watch pedal demos all the time. It's great, 'cause when I get 'em, they sound NOTHING like that. haha. Who needs a guitar anyway?
Grandma's gonna be pissed. :D Looks like a cool pedal, though. I haven't bought anything in awhile. Got my silicon fuzz pedal that I built awhile back tweaked....it brings The Cramps, now. Which is a good thing.
You like silicon > germanium?
