  • Death, black, heavy, thrash and I guess viking metal...

I enjoy finding awesome metal bands I've never heard. This forum has to have a couple metalheads. Share some of your favorite metal and if you aren't a metalhead maybe you'll find something you'll like.

Here is some of my favorite metal:

    Death - Crystal Mountain [link]

Mercyful Fate - A Dangerous Meeting [link]

Mercyful Fate - Nuns Have No Fun [link]

Morbid Angel - Maze of Torment [link]

Bolt Thrower - Through the Eye of Terror [link]

Decapitated - Winds of Creation [link]

Cannibal Corpse - Hammer Smashed Face [link]

Here is some random stuff I've listened to recently:

Death Angel - The Ultra Violence [link]

Entombed - Left Hand Path [link]

Battlecross - Flesh and Bone [link]

    Exodus - No Love [link]

Born of Osiris - Divergency [link]

Knee Deep in the Dead (doom remix with lyrics) [link]

Is that what they're calling Rob Halford these days?

I don't have time to provide some links right now but here's some recent stuff I like a lot:

Hail Of Bullets - III The Rommel Chronicles (the 2 earlier ones are crushing too)
        Entrails - Raging Death
Tribulation - The Formulas Of Death
        Cultes Des Ghoules - Henbane
        Mammoth Grinder - Underworlds
        Obliteration - Black Death Horizon
In Solitude - Sister (hugely influenced by early Mercyful Fate, particularly the 2 albums that came before this one which adds some goth influence)
I don't go to church. Kneeling bags my nylons.

The latest Gorguts album (Colored Sands) is awesome. I like it more and more with each listen.

I'll check these out, thanks. I think I've heard Entrails before. I love bands influenced by Mercyful Fate.

I like Impetigo and Necrophagia. I live in a music cocoon and don't know a lot.

Can't believe I left those off...Mark and Stevo are still close friends of mine...as is Killjoy, although Necrophagia is really hit and miss for me...

I generally like Phil Anselmo and his influence was felt on Necrophagia and Super Joint Ritual.

I haven't listened to any recent Anselmo shit though.
