If you're a fan of vinyl and horror soundtracks then this should be of interest to you. The limited edition repress of John Carpenter's soundtrack to THE FOG from Death Waltz Recording Company just went on sale yesterday. It's a 2-LP set containing the original soundtrack release as well as all the original unreleased cues, with liner notes from Carpenter himself and cover art by Dinos Chapman.
There's only 1000 copies so I can't imagine they'll be around too long. You can get it directly from Death Waltz but unless you're in the UK you'll probably be put off by the shipping. It's pretty heavy and they'll only send it tracked. Anyone in America would be better off getting it from Light in the Attic.
I should probably make this post into a recommendation for Death Waltz in general. They've released a bunch of cool stuff including quite a few Carpenter soundtracks, Fabio Frizzi's ZOMBI 2 score, etc. I just got my first package of their stuff a couple of days ago and it's been spinning on my turntable ever since. Their release of the HALLOWEEN 2 OST is absolutely magnificent. It's worth noting as well that they're planning to delete most of their releases so far and not do any represses. So if any of their stuff catches your eye, now is the time to grab it.
They've got releases of MS.45, NEW YORK RIPPER, and ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13 coming down the pike soon, so if you're a fan of any of those soundtracks it's worth keeping an eye out for them.
