Ugh, that just reminded me that I was dumb enough to go to Woodstock 99. What a terrible time.

When i saw the animation it was one of those moments where just EVERYTHING about it rang true....

Not having been to a festival since the late '90's i have to say they were beginning to go downhill then...God knows what they are like now...full of hipsters and heavy handed security...Gone are the days over jumping over the fence and actually having a DECENT ATMOSPHERE in which to watch bands with the people there!!

The recent Amnesia Rock Fest in Quebec is now being described as an ocean of pee.

          Gross.
          Rock! Shock! Pop!

I've got friends that were there, they said it was a shitshow, and they didn't mean literally...or so I thought.

They said they had VIP tickets, waited in line for hours, the venue ran out of water, there was no shade, etc. Nice of the mayor to say that they're bringing it back because the town makes money, though. Fuck the concert goers, as long as we make our 4 million!

Jesus. What a horribly organized event. At least Anthrax is still nice.

Seattle has some good urban festivals (Bumbershoot and Capitol Hill Block Party) which largely avoid most of those issues. But yeah, going on an expedition to BFE for an outdoor festival is an "adventure" I'm not interested in these days.
