Anyone in or around Chicago going? I'm seriously thinking about making the trip for this - I really want to see The Lillingtons!

It's happening Sept. 13-15. $100 for the three day passes, which isn't bad. That's like $3 a band.

A lot of bands but one of the only ones I would really be interested in is RFTC. I saw Screeching Weasel in Columbia years ago, good show.
I don't go to church. Kneeling bags my nylons.

Blink, Fall Out Boy and a Sublime cover act? Okay, you want me to riot you just pushed the right fucking button, mister. How the fuck does that garbage still get airplay? Is it because the 8-year-olds who liked that stuff when it was out are now the target demo? Those douchecanoes don't deserve the likes of RFTC or X.
It's not going to suck itself...

Hmmmmm. I was into it until I realized how many bands I actually wanted to see...and how many of them I haven't seen before, which brings it down to 3. Tickets are a nice price, but then you work in airfare, hotel (Chicago KNOWS when it's got a festival going on and jacks the rates accordingly), and meals, and you're looking at a thousand dollar show.

There's only 4 bands I'd pay to see, but even then I've seen three of them already. There will probably be separate shows for many of the bands at local clubs. Really don't like festivals though. And Fallout Boy absolutely kills the rest of the enthusiasm I had at first glance. I hope Lemmy scares the shit out of those twerps.

If it helps, the neighborhood it's going to be at - Humboldt Park - is a lesser one. Not terrible, but not a nice one like Lakeview or Lincoln Park. A neighboring area -- Wicker Park -- is hipster paradise (Stir Of Echoes was filmed there, as well as High Fidelity). Pretty rundown area and likely cheap hotels - if there are any near by. Of course you guys would want to be careful about bedbugs too (it's a serious problem in Chicago right now, and my neighborhood -- Rogers Park -- is among the worst in the US!).

              She deserved it. : P

Thinking about it, Humboldt Park is probably being invaded by the hipsters too these days. I have zero reasons to head over there. The positive thing is that there's plenty of public transportation in that area, so folks don't necessarily have to stay put in HB. But there's plenty of Mexican joints around there to eat at!

Only way I might change my mind about going is if they add some bands like The Vindictives, Apocalypse Hoboken, Swingin' Neckbreakers, stuff like that. At least Marky Ramone and "The Misfits" haven't been added...yet.

I know that your love affair with the Lillingtons has been going on for a number of years. :)

If I was close enough, I'd probably check it out depending on how they split up the bands...man, I'd LOVE to see RFTC...but it's not meant to be, for me anyway.

I really wish they would have announced this before I spent my tax return.
Oh well, I'm betting that Paul & Tommy's Replacement reunion will go beyond these three shows.
