  • Mike Scaccia, Ministry guitarist, dies at 47

What is it with all these people cashing out before 2013?

Rolling Stone magazine reported that he was playing at a birthday celebration for Rigor Mortis singer Bruce Corbitt when he collapsed on stage in Texas.

Yeah, very young. He was on the tour I saw them on in 92. Great guitarist. I wonder about the "natural causes", though. Regardless, very sad.

It was a heart attack - which seems to be the thing most likely to take you out in your 40's these days. Which makes me nervous to say the least!

I guess when you live the rock and roll lifestyle (which MAYBE he did) you have the chance of these "natural causes" catching up with you a bit quicker than normal I fear!

Yeah, I have to wonder if his days of hard living played a part in that - there were some heavy drug users in the band then. Sad though, the line-up he was in was the best Ministry by far imo. And Rigor Mortis was pretty cool too.
I don't go to church. Kneeling bags my nylons.

Just heard about this. Very sad news. As Andrew says, that line up was Ministry's best. I still go back to those albums on a semi-regular basis, far more often than I do stuff from other similiar bands (NIN, etc.) putting out industrial stuff from around the same period.
            Rock! Shock! Pop!
