Andrew, did you get the CSC release of COVERT ACTION by Cipriani?

Yeah, I did. It's a good one. Amazing really, Cipriani was severely underrepresented for a long time and now I have quite a collection of his stuff. He's one of my absolute favorites, has a truly unique style and his way with the keyboard is just fantastic.

Yeah, one of my favourites too. I think he got a bit of a push when Chris' Soundtrack Corner released the LA POLIZIA CHIEDE AUTO compilation. He's frequently criticized for rehashing themes (eg TENTACLES) but I suspect that may, in part, be down to the frugality of the industry. Great that so much of his stuff has been released over the last few years.

I actually love that he revisits or reworks themes throughout his career - particularly his crime stuff. It's cool to be watching a film and hear a Cipriani cue that he's altered or made a variation. The crime scores aren't just recycles all the time though, some are quite different. My personal favorite is EXECUTION SQUAD, it has some beautiful melancholy themes. He also did some awesome spaghetti western s/t - THE STRANGER RETURNS, THE BOUNTY KILLER, BLINDMAN, etc.

Clive, do you have ENFANTASME? That's a really gorgeous score - Beat released it. I would kill to see that film...
