Gaining a new appreciation for this after never caring much for it (aside from "She's A Rainbow"). I'm digging most of it lately, aside from a song or two.
It's Great Value Sgt. Pepper, but that isn't the worst thing to achieve.

Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome? Why did you watch it, Max?

Andrew, I saw Riot back in 1978 in tour of Rock City, at the El Conquistador in New Braunfels, Texas. It was sandwiched by two performances by Van Halen (in San Antonio and Dallas) in the span of a week, as VH were also touring in support of their debut album.

          Good times...

(Riot was amazing, btw, as you might imagine)

Damn you, haha. I would kill to have seen Riot with Guy Speranza. Such a great voice, really sucks he died so young. Rock City, Narita and Fire Down Under are all absolutely killer albums, they formed the bridge from 70s hard rock to the 80s metal (and were a huge influence on the NWOBHM). They should have been so huge. Those albums still hold up nicely.

                            • This was sold at A&P grocery stores in 1972. I vividly remember my mom getting this one and playing it around the holidays. Some cool, offbeat stuff on it, like Cary Grant singing his only Christmas song, and Carol Burnett too! Also, Johnny Cash! A&P released 3 volumes of these in the early 70s. That chain is no longer around here. I still have the vinyl.

                              • We had A&P's where I grew up but I don't remember them offering Christmas records, sadly.

NP - Neil Young - Barn. I haven't listened to much of his recent output at all but I'm digging this album.
