THE ESSENTIAL HIGHWAYMEN, whilst doing some work on my laptop.
I keep getting stuck on 'Highwayman'; Jimmy Webb's original recording is very good (Glen Campbell's 1979 cover version is its equal though, I'd argue), but having each 'incarnation' of the song's narrator sung by such four great voices really gives the song an added potency.
There's a great recording of the 1992 Farm Aid performance, with Jimmy Webb joining Nelson, Jennings and Kristofferson in a performance of the song on Youtube:
For Voivod, their debut is a masterpiece & the 2nd is damn near a masterpiece. I stopped listening after "Killing Technology". I remember buying "W & P" on cassette & it was just too rough for my teenage ears. It took awhile for me to like it.

Aw man, the run from Dimension Hatrí¶ss up to and including The Outer Limits is one of the hottest streaks in metal. Masterpiece after masterpiece. Target Earth and Post Society are also remarkably good. Amazing considering they lost probably their most crucial songwriter in Piggy. Brilliant band all around.
