    • Rotten Sound - Species at War

Fast and thick (for grind), with a heavy dose of the classic Swedish sound (ABBA?). Makes me realize that I'm not 18 anymore and prefer more punish than straight speed assault. Still pretty rad, though.

Haven't heard this, but I agree with the gist of what you're saying...while I like some speed now and then, these days I prefer the stuff that's built on the riff and the groove ala Asphyx, Entrails, Daemonicus, Grand Supreme Blood Court, etc...
I don't go to church. Kneeling bags my nylons.

Yeah, I may have overstated it a bit. I still love speed, but prefer a nice mix. If it's all speed or all punish, I'll probably choose the latter. I've been listening to a lot of powerviolence lately, so that may have something to do with it. After I wailed Species at War a few times, I had to toss on the downsided 7" from no comment.

I still have their first album on vinyl. It came with a comic book of illustrated song lyrics.

Every time I drive up to Seattle I am compelled to sing "Nisqually" when I pass the exit.

There should be a law that requires this. I've also been known to belt out Night Train to Spokane while heading East of the mountains.

For some reason that tune never entered on my journeys east, but I always thing of the tune Mark Lanagan sings at the end of this song (2:45min mark) when I drive by Ellensburg.

This is all I can find by them, but I'm obsessed with finding more.
