Seeing Laura Jane Grace & Catbite at the Empty Bottle (kind of a dive bar, my fave place for shows in Chicago) on Friday night, then Riot Fest on Saturday (got on the GL with my friend whose late husband knew the Dead Milkmen). Might go see Hoodoo Gurus tomorrow night too.

LJG & Catbite was fucking magical. They ran thru the entire Energy & Hectic recordings in order. Laura didn’t stop moving the entire time and her voice was perfect for the material - really channeled Jesse perfectly. Catbite was super tight and played really well.

Catbite opened with their own short set, followed by Laura playing a short solo acoustic set (with Paris doing backups on some songs).

Let me know how it goes, the Op Ivy clips I've seen show up online are pretty great. She was here last night and I wanted to go but it wasn't in the cards.
