  • The Decibel Magazine Tour!

I am weeping tears of metal joy. The Decibel Mag tour, which includes Behemoth, Watain and The Devil's Blood (all fine bands), also features the mighty In Solitude! The band that released one of last year's finest, The World The Flesh The Devil. Their self-titled debut from a few years back is really good too. The tour is hitting Charlotte, NC on May 4 and I shall be there, goat head in hand. If I had to pick one band I really wanted to see it would in fact be In Solitude. Thank you gods of metal.

The last date in the tour is NY, NY - Irving Plaza on May 12.
I don't go to church. Kneeling bags my nylons.

The only band listed I know is Behemoth (who are rad).

I will check out In Solitude though. Your recommendations are usually solid.

Look for the songs Serpents Are Rising, Demons, or We Were Never Here, they're good representations of the coolness of the band. The singer goes by the handle Hornper.

There's only one track on Spotify... Witches Sabbath off of the 'Heavy Metal Killers' compilation?

If this is the same band you're talking about I'm hearing a huge Mercyful Fate influence...

That's them! If you recall, when I first recommended them I said they were hugely influenced by Fate. Witches Sabbath is my favorite tune from the debut. The debut is really good, no filler, but by the second album The World The Flesh The Devil they have managed to incorporate the influence and add their own style to it a bit better. These guys average age RIGHT NOW is around 23! They were teens when they did that first album (and the singer and his brother the bass player were in a Swedish death metal band BEFORE that, haha.)

Jeez they're that young? That's pretty impressive. I could only find the one track but will definitely check out more. I liked what I heard.

Gonna be doing lots of RSD2012 shopping in Toronto next weekend - they're gonna go on 'the list!'

Definitely pick up The World The Flesh The Devil if you see it, and the debut shouldn't disappoint either. I was hoping they would have a new album out for this tour but it doesn't look like that will happen. The new issue of Decibel does have a flexi-disc with them doing Samhain's Mother of Mercy. I would love to hear that! You have to subscribe to get the flexis, also some indie music stores are supposed to carry them. I get mine at B&N so no dice.
