I think that I have officially lumped David Lynch into two genres...Avid and pre-Avid. Avid started up when he discovered Avid DV and didn't need to shoot on film anymore. That would begin just before Inland Empire. This is the same deal. Film, as much of a pain in the ass as it may be, is a grounding force. You can't shoot 7 minutes of fucking bullshit on film without it costing you a penny or two, and that's what this is, IMO. Inland Empire..too long and too weird just for the sake of it, but what does Lynch care because he's shooting DV for nothing and editing with avid.

I would really like for him to go back and make a good movie again.

Still love his stuff to death, though.

    Not this.

I bet this was much more fun to film than watch.

I think so too. It seems like weird for the sake of weird and while I love giant boobs and beer as much, or possibly even more, than the next guy, this was just... weird.

Hey. It's a music video. And as far as that goes, it's an above average music video.

Lynch is releasing another album on July 16th.

              http://www.eastvillageradio.com/cont...nt.php?id=6266

It's called The Big Dream and it's eleven original tracks and a random cover of Bob Dylan's The Ballad Of Hollis Brown.

Here's a video for a track of of the new album. Lynch didn't direct it though.

I like Lynch's films, but he's just weird for the sake of being weird. I haven't cared for his later stuff, but ERASERHEAD is a classic, though.
