Bought the latest Barrence Whitfield & The Savages album -- Dig Thy Savage Soul -- last night after seeing them. I've got some of their old stuff, but they were killed and felt I ought to support them. The lead-off tune is pretty rockin' for his usual style, but makes some sense. The guitarist and bassist were original members of The Lyres. They also played on the original Savages lps back in the 80's. Usually more of a mix of blues, rockabilly, old RnR, soul, stuff like that.
