There are a lot of good Billy Bragg covers out there.

Street Dogs - There Is Power In A Union
    Groovie Ghoulies - New England
Rebel Spell - The World Turned Upside Down
Lars Frederickson & The Bastards - To Have And To Have Not

That's four. Maybe that's not a lot in the grand scheme of things but all four of those covers are good.

I love Overkill, but Tankard's version of Fast Taker is much better:

IMO most BB covers are just trying to hard, choosing him to appear "authentic" or give themselves some credibility they might not otherwise. Street Dogs are legit with it, to be sure, but, still that's how they usually strike me.

Now, Christy Maccoll's cover of New England is fantastic - she really makes that song her own.
It's not going to suck itself...

I do likes me some Tankard - they're a kindred spirit to my band, I'd say...

Haven't heard hers, actually. You hear the Rebel Spell track? You'd dig them. They're kind of the Canadian Street Dogs.

She released it as a solo single and she and BB did the duet as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-v4a6NaU5Rg

Will check them out (horrible name, tho' - "Rebel Spell"? Seriously?)

Yeah it's a horrible name, I agree, but they have a good sound.

Don't throw stuff at me, but Alexisonfire's cover of Midnight Oil's "The Dead Heart" is good - I like it as much as the original. To be honest, that's the first Alexisonfire song I've heard!

Also, Motorhead's cover of Twisted Sister's "Shoot 'Em Down" is pretty cool.
