Finally had the time to sit down and read the new Dark Horse Den Vol. 2 hardcover last night. Quite a big difference between this and vol. 1 in terms of storytelling. I had never read all of this second volume in order in its entirety before, though I think I have about two thirds of the issues of Heavy Metal where it was serialized. The storytelling is much more coherent here than in Vol. 1, which told its story over a much longer period of time and across multiple titles. It's also interesting to compare his evolution as an artist between the two volumes. His color work in Vol. 1 is excellent, but his color work on Vol. 2 is fucking phenomenal.

So it's finally coming out. Hopefully there'll be enough this time.

You'd think that reprinting stuff would be the easiest thing in the world. But then again, the first Den book was very well done so I guess they need to maintain the quality.

Looks like more delays on the Den hardcovers from Dark Horse.

Just as well if it would have been as slow to drip out as volume one. I'm hoping that they learned their lesson this time.
