  • R.I.P. Aline Kominsky-Crumb

Lotta rumblings on twitter over the last couple of hours that she's passed away.

Haven't seen any official confirmation anywhere, but the news seems to be coming out of France where she lived so I sadly suspect that it's true.

RIP, Aline. Interesting artist, and an even more interesting human, in many ways. I was aware of R. Crumb years before her, and likely only really dug deeper to further understand Robert, but was rewarded with some really well thought, considered work.

I can't help, however, but feel very sad for Robert. First Dana, then his son, now Aline. I hope Sophie can provide some grounding solace for him.

And man, I normally don't have this level of connection with these people I've never met, but I watched the _Crumb_ documentary, again, about six months ago and that doc is so raw, personal, and intimate I *do* feel like I knew/know all of them save Sophie.
