    • Damn. See when they were coming out the cover price kept me away,I was 5 or so and got 2 bucks a week allowance.

Then just the where the hell to store them issue kept me from grabbing them when decent shape copies were still priced ok in the late 80s.

Got two bargains today. Arcade issue came from the LCS,which is getting out of comics and going full into CCG and collectibles,so was half off the sticker price of 10 bucks. Owner said "It's been on the shelf for 2 years and you and one other person have looked at it."

The right comic was at Dirt Cheap and 99 cents. The art looked decent. Figured I will give it a read and either toss it into someone's Newtcrate or add it to the collection.

                        • Went to a small local show that a few friends were set up at this afternoon.

Grabbed a few more $1 books...

Orphan And The Five Beasts #1 (James Stokoe's art is fucking great)
                          X-Men Classics #1
The Elektra Saga #2, 3, 4 (Miller reprints)
                          Eternals #17
Trillium #1 (because Jeff Lemiere kicks ass)
                          Alien Encounters #13
Judge Dredd: The Early Cases #1

I also scored a Wolverine #4 and a few Alan Moore Swamp Thing issues I was missing for really nice prices. That finished up the Miller Wolverine mini-series for me and I'm getting closer on the Moore Swamp Thing run (which seems to be getting harder to come across lately).

I wish I had known about the Dark Horse volumes that added to the Epic Moebius trades when they were coming out, the prices on them now are absurd.

When we were dating, my wife bought me Epic volumes 1-6 and The Art of Moebius at a used book store that had a comic shop side. When the original owner retired, the new owner stopped bringing in comics and put everything in stock under the same "half off cover price" pricing as everything else in the store, so the whole thing cost less than one volume was going for at the time!

See I saw the EPIC Moebius stuff. But back then refused to pay the high prices. "I can buy 6 issues of GI Joe for that price"

Now I grab any of it I find cheap.

I remember seeing volumes 1,3,4 and 5 at my comic shop when they were new, and thinking "Well, if I can't get volume 2, I won't bother", then finding out volume 2 was sold out quickly because it was the complete Airtight Garage and was impossible to get, so I gave up. Then we went to that little shop, and holy fuck, they had every volume, and the art book! My wife saw how stoked I was, and went back the next day to get them all as a surprise.
