        • mycomicshop.com is having their annual Booksgiving sale. Things are 10 to 20% off plus you can pick a freebie (while they last) for every ten dollars you spend. Since I had a ton of credit I went apeshit and will list the spoils whenever they arrive. They have thousands of dollar books too.

I have always been happy when I talk to Americans and they have no idea I am not from the US west coast, it means I don't have to endure the jokes.

Yeah, my accent goes undetected 99% of the time. Tolch, however, sounds like one of the McKenzie Brothers.

I need to talk to him. Seriously, as a Southerner, I can certainly sympathize with having your accent made fun of. Mine's not even that pronounced compared to a lot of folks around here, but go out west or up north and they think you're a hillbilly.
I don't go to church. Kneeling bags my nylons.

                    • Mine apparently comes out when I'm drinking or when I say the word 'bagel.'

                      • I've lived in Maryland all my life, and occasionally someone here will ask me where me/my accent comes from. Heheh, i did grow up on the countryside of things, and i think whatever it is, does come out more when i drink.

                        • When we were visiting relatives in southern California one summer, my cousin had one of his friends over to hang out, and his friend instantly pegged my brothers as Canadian, but thought I was a local, which greatly amused me.

In call centre jobs, people usually thought I was from the western states, too. I think it might just be from watching American education TV when I was little, combined with working through a minor speech impediment when I was little, but I don't have anything resembling a Canadian accent or speech patterns, apparently.

                          • I'm very sorry that your brothers got pegged!
