I was hoping that Swampy would break into a Bollywood song and dance routine.

I finally got started on The Bronze Age Swamp Thing Vol. One over the weekend. I'm thoroughly enjoying this! Wrightson's art is just perfect for this type of gothic, moody storytelling. Simply stunning, beautiful work. Wein's stories are top notch too, he sets the mood perfectly and it sometimes reads like a classic ghost story. I'm looking forward to the issue where Batman guests.

I picked up the 5 issue Roots Of The Swamp Thing last month (cheap). It reprints the 1st 10 issues of the run and it is a great read.

I love those Wrightson issues. My favorite take on the character.

I've got originals of 4 of the 10 issues, a TPB edition, the Bronze Age Omnibus hardcover and just recently grabbed Roots Of The Swamp Thing #1 because of the cover that Wrightson did up for that issue.

It's probably my favorite comic run of all time.

I'm really digging how Wein takes classic horror tropes and incorporates them into the narrative - Frankenstein, the Wolfman, witches, etc. Wrightson's art is such a huge part of it too, sets the mood perfectly.

Went to the comic shop today and picked up Swamp Thing 100 Page Giant #2 and Legend of the Swamp Thing Halloween Spectacular. Cool that the 100 pager has a Len Wein/Kelley Jones story, and another one has Tom Mandrake art.

Saw something cool there too, there are now illustrated comic storage boxes. They had a very sweet looking Kingdom Come box with Ross art. Drawback is they're 18 bucks so I passed.

If I remember correctly the Kelly Jones story is part one of a six-part mini-series that came out in 2016 (which is worth tracking down as it's pretty cool).

If you can't find'em let me know, I got all 6 in the dollar bins at the LCS and there are probably other copies in there I could dig out for you.

Thanks, Ian. I probably won't get by the store again before next weekend. I'll let you know what I find.
