So I read Silver Star #2 and the backup story was... The Mocker! It was a really weird little short that Ditko did that was apparently published there without his permission.

I guess it was meant to be black and white, magazine sized - which makes sense given how many panels are on each page. Anyway, it's nutty. It's about a district attorney with the powers to kinda-sorta turn invisible and once he does, he just kind of mocks bad guys.
I'm kind of obsessing over it and need to find the full length graphic novel version that came out in 1990.

$85 isn't cheap but this looks bad ass.

"Collects the Dr. Strange stories from Strange Tales #110-111, 114-146, 1963-66. Highly Recommended. By Stan Lee, Roy Thomas et al. Art by Steve Ditko. Steve Ditko and Stan Lee's complete “Doctor Strange†stories at a massive size, so big that each page is like falling into another dimension. Lose yourself in the first appearances of such iconic characters as Baron Mordo, Wong, Eternity, beautiful Clea, Dormammu, the Mindless Ones and more. Ditko is an inimitable talent dedicated to a singular vision — one of the greatest storytellers of all time — a visual master who created other dimensions beyond imagining and eerie worlds beyond compare. Marvel, 2020."

Some sweet deals on a few entries in the Ditko Archives series at Hamilton Books. My copies shipped this afternoon.

My nerd OCD isn't going to like having one in paperback and the others in HC but at those prices, basically 75% off, I'm sure I'll survive.

Did Ditko destroy a comic over a lettering dispute?

CBR says probably not but it's an interesting read.
