Yeah, LOVE that cover (even though I agree on Aparo). Cardy is so great. Check out who picked that cover as a favorite: https://13thdimension.com/comics-lum...-cardy-covers/

                • I used to have a complete run of that series. Sold it off when I moved to the US, and kind of regret it (I did hold onto my complete 70's DC The Shadow and Swamp Thing runs though).

                  • I've never read any of that series. I assume it was good if you had a complete run. I had the later Adventure Comics run (though sadly long gone now). I need to look around and see if the earlier series has been collected. I'm sure it has.

It was good but I liked the Adventure run better. I got it as part of a haul that I got at a garage sale years ago (2 boxes of silver age Marvel and DC stuff for $20 and some EC titles too!!!).

It was collected but I think, sadly, that collected edition seems to be out of print.

                      • If you don't mind black and white, the Showcase Presents The Spectre wouldn't be a bad pickup. It reprints Showcase 60, 61 & 64., Brave & The Bold 72 75 116 180& 199, The Spectre 1-10, Adventure Comics 441-430, DC Comics Presents 29 & Ghosts 97-99.

There is an omnibus coming out reprinting all of the above. But with the current pandemic, who knows when it will be out. Might be worth holding out for that whenever it comes out.

I think that edition is OOP too.

                          • Thanks, Gary. I'll probably wait for that omnibus. I have the Teen Titans Silver and Bronze age omnibuses, as well as the JLA Bronze one and they are awesome. Pricey but worth it if you really love them.

What a garage sale haul, Ian! Holy shit.

I pretty much love any era of The Spectre. I have the Golden Age archive edition vol. 1.
