    • Batman/Catwoman special seems to have been shelved indefinitely. A shame, as I think this would have wound up being John Paul Leon's last published work.

Being from Little Caesar's, I am sure it tastes like someone stuffed a bat into a pizza oven for 15 minutes, too.

              • I read the recent Batman Long Halloween Special that came out a few months ago, by Loeb and Sale, and it's decent. Not on the level of the original mini-series but obviously, being a one-shot, it doesn't have the option of going that in-depth. Good writing, good art, though there are a few panels were Sale's Batman, which I typically really like, just looks 'off' somehow. Still, for the $0.50 I paid for it I was happy to have it.

                            • Jim for me does great covers and posters. But his storytelling skills are very lacking.

                              • Last night I read Batman Versus Aliens II, which I didn't know existed until I came across it in a $1 bin last weekend. It starts off fairly well - some construction guys come across a sealed bunker while working on a project, open it up and it's got some xenomorphs in that were the remnants of an old expedition seventy years prior. As you'd guess, they wreak havoc across Gotham and Batman has to do his thing to take them down. This part is generic, but at least entertaining and not completely dumb.

Then a federal agent shows up and she gives Batman a hard time. Why? Because she's a bad guy of sorts and is involved in a program where the xenomoprh genes are being spliced in with those belonging to various inmates at Arkham to create xenomorph/rogues gallery hybrids - so we get xenomorph Joker, Two Face, Poison Ivy, Scarecrow and Killer Croc. Batman fights them and winds. This part is dumb.

Overall, worth the $3 I paid for the whole series as I like the covers but this really isn't very good.
