  • Picked up a copy of Wrightson's The Mutants from a shop last weekend and finally got around to digging into it last night.

I'd read most of it before (I used to have a copy of this but lost it, along with a signed hardcover edition of A Look Back, in a flood in the 90s that I don't like to think about), a lot of it is reprinted in color in the Master Of The Macabre mini series, but these were originally done for fanzines and published in black and white, where the MotM series reproduced them in color. I like'em better in B&W, it lets you pay closer attention to the line work, which even early on in his career (this material is all early stuff) is pretty damn impressive.

              • Got my grail book on Sunday. Have literally wanted one of these for like 37 years and Sunday a friend basically brokered a deal for me and, at the right price, made it happen. It's a little wavy and needs a pretty but it's otherwise in pretty solid shape. I completely geeked out when I got it and still can't really believe I own one. I know there are obviously way more expensive books out there and much harder to find books out there, but for me, this was at the top of my want list.

Nice, I guess you can now only afford to eat instant noodles for the rest of the year, but worth it!
I'm bitter, I'm twisted, James Joyce is fucking my sister.

It is always awesome to finally get your hands on a grail.
