I sampled a few sections of the first two films on the VCI box set. More wax than a beautician's salon. If these were HD they don't look it now.

Hopefully Powerhouse have more than just the two that have already been mentioned and can do a proper set.

Caught a couple of these on El Rey. Bright, colorful and cleaner than ever, but yeah, no detail.

The box set of Santo arrived today. I'm glad that my cash outlay was in the $20+ range and not $40+, just because the packaging was a bit inept. Sampled the movies and here are some random thoughts, you may not agree.

Wax Museum is the K Gordon Murray version!! Yay!

There may have been a lot of waxing out of grain, but to be honest with you, I hate seeing a film swimming in grain. (Looking at you Island Of Lost Souls). The colors do pop on most of these for the most part, so that is another plus.

Quite a few have new title cards. Meh.

The dubbing is off putting, but if that's the only way to get the films, you either buy it or pass on the set.. I'm thinking that eventually at some point in the first movie I will get used to it.
