Fits with what Cliff has said about Wingnut Films waiting until they are finished with The Hobbit movies before licensing out PJ's early (better) films.

I want these so bad, I have the Trimark/Lionsgate Dead Alive blu-ray, but would love a proper restoration of his 3 earliest.

Peter Jackson is still set to make Tintin 2 - but he's doing another top secret film for Steven Spielberg first.
Which means we're probably not going to see PJ approved remasters or reissues of the older movies any time soon.Rock! Shock! Pop!

So this article at Bloody Disgusting actually has some updates on the restorations that his early films are undergoing.
https://bloody-disgusting.com/home-v...onus-contents/
"We had told you back in October, straight from Peter Jackson's mouth, that both Bad Taste and Dead Alive were being restored in 4K by the WETA Digital VFX team, and Jackson now reveals that they're not the only early films of his that are getting the treatment. So too are Meet the Feebles and Heavenly Creatures, which Jackson also owns!
“I've done some tests on Braindead (aka Dead Alive), where we took the 16mm negative and put it through our restoration pipeline — and shit, it looks fantastic!†Jackson just told THR. “I'm pretty keen to actually just get them back out there again. That's sort of my plan for now: to do a nice little box set — the early years! The naughty years!â€"

And while we're waiting for this fantastic release ... here's a little something I stumbled over on YouTube the other day; A fan who owns a 16mm print of BAD TASTE has made his own restoration and uploaded it in 1080p. It looks pretty good on my 50" screen. ^_^
