Rockwell I like...and Raimi and company can do these things in their sleep....so i entertain a hope that it will be watchable....and at least it should be better than the sequels....

However, no CGI or loud, sudden music can scare as much as the "face Melting" scene from the original...or the slow, gradual build up from the first...As Mark has said, "The mom sliding up the wall in her underwear" probably won't make it in and, even if it does, won't be on the same quality level!!...and having the "Irish" priest is no substitute for Zelda Rubinstein the mini psychic...

Man the original is 33 years old... It was the first horror I ever saw and had me and my siblings hooked for years. I was thinking this is too recent for a remake but, hey, more time has lapsed than between The Thing and The Thing From Another World.
