  • Nolando's FROZEN review..........

    is way too kind.

    This movie is ridiculous.

    SPOILERS AHEAD!

Wolves? At a freaking New England ski resort? Huh? Dontcha think the people running this place might have noticed that there were wolves running around? Oh, and wolves DO NOT behave like they do in this movie. A lone sick or starving wolf MIGHT attack a man - but wolves do not attack humans in packs unless there is no other food.

And the kids? Good grief - where to start? Cannot think to even cover their faces in subzero weather? And who jumps straight-legged from a huge height? Duh - at least bend your knees if you want a *tiny* chance at not winding up in a heap of bloody and broken bones. I wanted all three of those kids dead - they were self-obsessed moronic assholes.

Also, loved that ski-lift cabling that cuts like razor wire. Totally realistic.

    This movie sucks.

Try to imagine ANY Australian acting as stupid as the American Idiots in this movie.

      Impossible.

We may surprise you! I am sure you remember Mr. Goldberg's posts about "bogans" from the other place?

By way of an example: You may be aware that on our East Coast we recently had Tropical Cyclone Yasi (a Category 5 cyclone, as big as Katrina)? Residents in the direct path were instructed by the state government to evacuate their premises and seek safe haven. Six residents, in their sixties no less, refused to budge claiming they'd be alright. When the cyclone hit what did they do? Rang state emergency services to come and rescue them. What were they told? That they should have evacuated when they were told to and that it was now too dangerous to dispatch anyone due to the force of the cyclone and they would have to sit it out. Suffice to say, they survived...just.

That's kinda the vibe I got from the trailer. I'm sure it stinks but I still kinda wanna see it.

Yeah, I have to admit I liked this even if it was preposterous. It was late at night and I was well into some cold beers but it kept my attention anyway. There's a couple of grisly moments...it's really just OPEN WATER in a different setting.
I don't go to church. Kneeling bags my nylons.

As long as it's not Open Water 2 in a different setting.

I kept thinking of the comparisons to Open Water as well. But I'm a sucker for death-by-wolves (check out Brit flick Wilderness, too) and stupid kids getting eaten by said wolves.

I like that the best review I've read for this movie appears in this thread: "Ridiculous but fun"
It's not going to suck itself...

Yeah that was dumb, but it they handled that aspect realistically half of the movie would have been covered faces and muffled voices like Kenny from South Park.

Not that giving it a pass on that makes it a good movie, because it wasn't.
