I have the ZOMBIE BLOODBATH TRILOGY released by Camp Motion Pics. but never quite made it through to the end of number 3....possibly not even no.2, I can't remember.....but I did get through the first film, mainly on account of that geeky guys incredible haircut/tache combo. It reminded me of ZOMBIE 90: EXTREME PESTILENCE, with gore scenes that go on so long they become boring. And zombies in gola tracksuits and white socks. I usually have a high tolerance for SOV stuff (I managed to get through to the end of ALIEN BEASTS in just 2 nights) but these films are a hard slog. I'm not sure they are worth the effort...but what's the bet I end up checking them out again at some point. But I'm in no rush to get anymore of Sheets output.

It's been years since I've seen it, but I remember being impressed with ZOMBIE BLOODBATH 2. I still have the VHS. I honestly used to watch these flicks with a straight face. It's like irony hadn't been invented in the '90s. Now I mostly watch old SOV stuff for the laughs.
Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome? Why did you watch it, Max?

It's a bit of both for me. I appreciate the nutty gore in some of them, but I also love the unintentional comedy. A lot of times though, I find myself impressed by the sheer ambition that some of these guys (Sheets, Ritter, the Polonia's) showed in these movies that they made for about the cost of a movie ticket.

Oh, absolutely. They're often charming, unpretentious and occasionally brilliant. It's also hard not to love movies that were obviously made by real horror fans. I'll take KILLING SPREE any day over phony, huge-budgeted wannabe B-movies like SCOUTS GUIDE TO THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE.

After reading about Moon Child at Bleeding Skull, I've decided I cannot live without it.

Grindhouse Video has it on DVD here:

              http://grindhousevideo.com/products/moonchild-dvd

This is the ONLY listing I've been able to find for it. Anyone happen to have it or know anything about it? I'm suspecting it's DVD-R not pressed and can live with that but I like to know what I'm getting. There's no label info or anything noted on that listing and I've never ordered from that place before.

              This movie sounds insane.

Vultra Video put it out on VHS, which is nice and all, but I'd rather a DVD.

So it is DVD-R, which is fine, and I did order it.

Anyone interested in this, and I realize this is as niche as it gets in some ways, should give this a read:

That's the review that convinced me this was worth fifteen of my hard earned American dollars.

So I ordered it, got it in less than a week. The DVD-R does come with a printed label on the disc and nice cover art. It's also got slick menus and includes a trailer for the feature as well. Decent enough transfer quality for a low budget camcorder epic based on the quick skim I gave it last night. Will save this for the weekend though, so that I can properly savor it...

So I got around to watching Moon Child last night and it was even better than I thought it would be. This is a ridiculously ambitious movie considering it was made on a such a low budget and with a cast of amateurs. Say what you will about Sheets but in this movie the guy shows some serious dedication to getting his story told. He doesn't let things like money get in the way of staging fairly complex car chases (sure, that Ford Bronco II is only going about 10 miles an hour but it would still suck to fall out of it or get run over by it) or trying to pull off a werewolf transformation sequence.

Whatever locations he found were actually really great. It's a sort of post apocalyptic action sci-fi werewolf martial arts movie so the bombed out factories and run down industrial buildings where most of this is staged works quite well. One scene towards the end looks like it was shot inside a museum or something, which is kind of odd, but whatever.

The acting is just what you'd expect, if not maybe a little worse at times, but that adds to the charm. Anyone into low budget SOV stuff, even if you're not specifically enamored with Sheets' movies, should track this down.

Trailer for his latest. I could do without the fake print damage but this looks kind of rad.

It's funny how the tide has turned where films that were deemed to be no budget shit are now seen as a glorious throwback.

Todd's running a crowdfunding campaign for his next movie, a werewolf film using all practical effects.

Basically he's just asking that people pre-order the DVD or Blu-ray. Not a bad deal.

Wow, he hit his goal quickly. Anything raised above and beyond will go to additional practical effects work for the project.

So Linnea Quigley is officially onboard for Bonehill Road and it looks like Gary Kent might be joining the cast too.
