  • Blade On Blu-ray - Worth The Upgrade?

So after seeing Snipes pop up again in The Expendables 3 last weekend I was thinking how much fun the first Blade movie was and how I dug part II and tolerated part III.

Then I got to thinking, hey, I should get those on Blu-ray even though I already have them on DVD. Because I like Blu-ray and they're not that expensive.

And so I shopped around and they are pretty cheap - but then I got to thinking I already have them on DVD, I don't watch these movies constantly and in fact my DVDs are pretty dusty. Maybe I should invest those dollars in rare European smut films instead.

    Decisions, decisions.

But it looks like there's a Walmart (yay my favorite store) exclusive Trilogy set that came out on Tues. and someone on Blu-ray.com says it's less than $10.00.

    These look like decent upgrades....

This thread is rambling. But hey, now we have a Blade thread.

    I like Blade.

I can imagine BLADE II looking pretty good on Blu. A handsome film all round, I always thought. Don't think I'll ever need to watch BLADE: TRINITY again though, unless it's for laughs ('cock-juggling thundercunt', indeed )

The Caps-a-holic comparison suggests the first BLADE may be worth snagging on Blu: http://caps-a-holic.com/hd_vergleich...ess=#vergleich

If I'm not mistaken, the BLADE 2 Blu-ray has some new special features including a solo del Toro commentary.

I think the first film holds up still. I never liked the sequels.

I remember enjoying the 2nd one but thinking that it was a bit overdone. Haven't seen it in years though.

Yeah...first one is definitely the one you can rewatch over and over...second one was good, but like you said, tried a bit TOO hard...still enjoyable though...

I really enjoy the first two BLADE films. The blu-ray for the first BLADE is a must for a re-watch. The first BLADE DVD doesn't look so hot and the blu-ray is very nice.

BLADE and TOMORROW NEVER DIES were the first DVD's I purchased (I believe it was around Christmas 1998). At the time I only had a DVD player in my PC.

Looks like he's just taking advantage of the current climate and playing the race card for acting like an asshole.

And it wasn't just Oswalt making allegations against him, they even allude to his behaviour on the DVD extras. I think his double earned their pay on that one as Snipes supposedly spent most of his time in his trailer smoking weed and would only come out for shots where his face was visible in medium or close-up.
I'm bitter, I'm twisted, James Joyce is fucking my sister.
