I'm not doing a full review because I've got a bunch of other stuff to write about that was actually sent for review purposes I but haven't seen any screen caps posted online anywhere, so I figured why not.

This has been tough to get for various crazy reasons, figured some people might find these useful.

Is it worth the upgrade from the previous 2-disc set, Ian? Between dealing (or not) with Bill because he doesn't ship to Canada, or getting this from Diabolik or ebay (and those are crapshoots), I'm wondering if this is a must-have or not.

I've been spending my DVD/BD dollars elsewhere because of Bill's nonsense, but I'll put this on the list if it's worth getting.

88 Films seems to have this scheduled for a UK Blu-ray release in Sept.

Any exclusive features on the 88 Films release? I'll probably buy that one.

              Caution : Censor ahead

It hasn't gone through the BBFC yet and there is a possibility it might need a trim.

I'd be really surprised if the BBFC flagged it up. It's a sleazy film, but there's nowhere near the level of sexual violence necessary for them to justify cuts.

I wonder if they are using the Code Red transfer or if they will be doing their own.
Code Reds is quite mediocre I felt. Did Bill do a new transfer for the Blu ray or re-use the existing HD master from the DVD release I wonder.

                      According to melonfarmers.uk

UK: The cut R Rated version was passed 18 for strong, bloody horror and sex without further BBFC cuts for:
                      2015 88 Films RB Blu-ray
                      2007 International Trading/Screen Entertainment R0 DVD
2005 Anchor Bay Box of the Banned R2 DVD
                      2002 International Trading/Screen Entertainment VHS
The US R Rated Version is 3:04s shorter than the uncut version. The cuts are along the lines of the BBFC cinema cuts but less drastic. See pictorial cuts details from movie-censorship.com .

The fact that there are some pre-cuts made the BBFC decision a little easier to grant a certificate as this version is cut more than the banned video nasty version. It still took several viewings by the BBFC before the decision was reached.

They note the R1 code red and Germanys Laser Paradise versions are uncut....

                          88 just posted the following:

                          "
Our first announcement is actually an apology. We have had to put Nightmare in a Damaged Brain back a few weeks as we have been trying to obtain a sample of a newly created answer print scan.
This finally came through today and it looks fantastic so we've decided to go ahead and make a NEW HD Master. This will be done very soon and we will be able to give a firm final release date in the next couple of weeks.
Thank you for your patience and we really hope you like the new transfer."

Is it me? I fail to see much difference between the 2. If anything, Code Red's looks more natural.
