    Release date is also 10/2/13.

CD Japan actually reports 10/2/13 for Dracula and 9/3/13 for Frankenstein.

Both releases are noted in the listings as HD remasters.

But no 3D. Too bad - I'd think the Japanese would be a-ok with including it.

I don't have Blood for Dracula, so I'll probably get it.

The only thing I've to think about is if I use my Frequent Shopper Points or if I wait and add 141 of them in my account to get something who will be more costly later.

I like that if you translate the page, Flesh for Frankenstein is called INTESTINE.

I also like that it's 36 bucks, and that I don't like Warhol or Morrissey films.

I don't know as far as rights issues, but I could see Kino putting these out on BD.

Do the Japanese still optically censor pubic hair?

Oh snap, hadn't though of that John. Good question. I think they still do. That would make this more or less null and void.

Image was the last company that had licensed these, but that deal has expired. Westchester Films owns these and I believe that Cliff tried to get them for Shout, but they had already been licensed to someone.

Even more considering it would certainly cost more than 50$ with the custom duty... But Derrick say that someone else license it, so the're a chance we will see a release here too in a not so far future.

It varies -- it's no longer a hard line rule, as at least some domestic movies have had uncensored Japanese releases. But still seems to be the rule of thumb...

I'm waiting on these. The only Japanese Blus I own are the original NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (which is a port of the Weinstein remaster and looks great) and THE GREAT SILENCE and DAY OF ANGER (which have some significant interlacing PQ issues). And oh yeah - the new WHITESNAKE live thing - but I got that for the fancy packaging. My next Japanese Blu is probably going to be ORCA.

I hope Criterion got them back, then. That would better the chances of getting a real 3-D release of Flesh, since Criterion are no strangers to the format anymore.

Is there a lot of genital fogging on the WHITESNAKE disc?

                              Anyone have the Aussie Blu's?

If so, what's the quality like?
