Caught this one on Prime or something a couple of months back, first time I'd seen it since the theatre. It holds up pretty well compared to other "look at this cast!" poster films from the 90's.
I see Shout kept the same floating head montage artwork style that was on the Mill Creek BD release. I wonder if that decision was made purposefully as some kind of retro homage or just a lazy quickie thing.

I rewatched this last year after not seeing it since it was in the cinemas. I remember it had a lot of hype behind it at the time. Kevin Williamson was enjoying the kind of hype Jos Whedon would get a few years later, Rodriguez was on a hot streak. I was pumped. Then the film? A bit meh. My rewatch came with a lot less expectations but I still felt it was a curiously flat film. Feels lower budgeted than you would expect it to be.

Agreed. It should've been much better.
Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome? Why did you watch it, Max?
I was a bit disappointed in The Faculty at the time. A flavour of the month director and a hot shit screenwriter produced an unremarkable movie. It wasn't bad, but pretty unoriginal.
I'm bitter, I'm twisted, James Joyce is fucking my sister.
