    ***NEW OFFICIAL TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT***

Stephen King's THINNER is coming to Blu-ray January 23. It stars Robert John Burke (RoboCop 3) and Joe Mantegna (House Of Games) in a story of supernatural terror as one man faces a countdown to the ultimate excruciating payback. A 109-year-old Romani man (Michael Constantine, My Big Fat Greek Wedding), hell-bent on revenge for the death of his daughter, exacts a shocking curse that compels its victim to gorge himself in an effort to avoid shrinking away to nothingness. With time running out from this bizarre and relentless torture, the accursed man must find a way to reverse his predicament, though death is quickly becoming his only option.

I noticed the text change from the old Blu Ray from 'Gypsy' to 'Romani'. Shit, if that word is now verboten, that's about 40% of every 70's rock song now considered racist...
I'm bitter, I'm twisted, James Joyce is fucking my sister.

This movie is very poor but it's one of my favourite King novels.

I sometimes wonder who decides what terms are in or out of favor/fashion. I suppose it comes from an intersection of academia and the media? Strange. I've actually recently heard individuals who I assume are trying to be open minded and current (a.k.a. "woke") with their vocabulary use the term "colored people," which was totally offensive when I was growing up.

Pretty difficult to know what to say these days, I can't keep up with it. I don't want to knowingly cause offence to someone (unless they've annoyed me), but I do wonder how much people are genuinely offended and how much is just creating a fuss because they can nowadays. I don't engage on any of the social Slack channels where I work, there are predators on there who are trying to catch people out, and I know someone that was fired for expressing their views on there. And I think that some minority groups don't do themselves any favours by pursuing this, as people that previously had a 'live and let live' attitude are turning against them as a reaction to the minefield that has to be walked now.

I did like the book, but the pie thing always seemed a bit silly to me. (And I'm not sure I understand why he didn't just dispose of it. Or maybe I'm misremembering that.)
              VHS will never die!

That's my favourite part of it, one of his best endings imo.
