So we finally got around to watching the first Terrifier film last night. It had gone under my radar and I don't recall really hearing about it before like a month ago when suddenly it seemed like everyone was suddenly talking about it. Art the Clown is a neat character but the movie overall was kind of mediocre. It had good kills in it, some pretty original, and it was nice that there wasn't really any CGI, but the characters were just sort of generic. There was so little story (if you can even call it that) before the killing started that I felt completely unattached to the characters and found myself not really caring whether they lived or died. It was fine. I suppose I enjoyed it, but once it was done I knew I'd never have a reason to watch it again. Shame really, since, like I said, I think the clown is an effective character. Crazy how much people on eBay are asking for the Blu-ray!

We have Terrifier 2 on pre-order. Hopefully it will live up to the hype. Also potentially interested in checking out the first All Hallows Eve film.

I'm currently halfway into All Hallow's Eve and am enjoying it...and I hate modern horror. The stink of torture porn is discernable. Has a bit of an "anything might happen" vibe that I am appreciating. Yeah, the characters are not well-defined, in that Charles Band kind of way. Also have duder's Frankenstein vs. The Mummy on deck.

Terrifier was an interesting low-budget film that was a bit of a fresh air.

Terrifier 2 is a piece of godawful dogshit.

This sums up my feelings on the first one too. It's not a perfect film, but it's watchable.

By comparison with TERRIFIER, that one could be shown to kindergarteners, Marshall. I've read TERRIFIER 2 is even more extreme. Not my cup of tea, but I did like ALL HALLOW'S EVE (and to a lesser extent its direct sequel, which if memory serves me has a segment in Spanish with no subs on the DVD).

The director has confirmed that a 3rd film will pick up right where the 2nd one left off and is officially in the works.

Best to strike when the iron's hot!

What I admire about these movies is Damien Leone has managed to create a new horror icon. That's impressive, considering how many people have tried. Who was the last one? Victor Crowley? And I'd argue that he's still not exactly well-known.

Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome? Why did you watch it, Max?

Anyone interested in seeing the second film cheaply and legally it is streaming on Screambox. Over the weekend you could sign up for 2 months for $0.99 but that looks to be over now, but you can still sign up for a seven day free trial and check it out.

I've been wanting to pick it up? Will do so now. Unless it's available streamed somewhere?

I've watched the BD twice since getting it last week. Genuinely disturbing at times. The alien sequence was so unnerving. Really good film.

Letterboxd shows it on a bunch of platforms, but I'm so out of it with streaming that I don't know if that's what you're looking for.

                          I'll just buy it. Thanks!

Just as an FYI, and I can't recall for sure if I've mentioned it previously, but JustWatch is brilliant for finding where something might be streaming. You can use it in a Private Browsing window, and it doesn't require an account.

                              I got the double feature:

                              https://www.amazon.com/All-Hallows-E...tv%2C72&sr=1-1

...Oops, I just checked, and it appears to be unavailable, at least from Amazon.
