      I've been thinking about where the inevitable TERRIFIER 4 might go in terms of atrocities and the only taboo that really hasn't been exploited is rape or sexual violence (the climax of Art's segment in ALL HALLOW'S EVE is the closest its come). If Leone had Art rape a chick, it would show that he's really willing to offend, yet I don't think he's going to go there. This series has proven to be incredibly popular with young audiences and they're seemingly OK with extreme levels of violence and cruelty, but introduce a sexual element..... and I bet he'd lose them. Still, I hope he goes for something truly transgressive with the next installment: I want to see people running from the theaters in disgust! Maybe have Art kill a dog as well. Give them something they won't be able to shake.
      Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome? Why did you watch it, Max?

        Leone has said "Art doesn't rape". Just genital mutilation with tools...

          Oh yeah, I forgot about the hacksaw bit in the original. That has a bit of a sexual element.

            I wonder if necrophilia is off the table? Art banging a rotten corpse would be pretty fucked up.

              He could interrupt someone else's rape. Just spit balling here.

                I always remember how disturbing the sequence in Miike's Dead or Alive is where a woman is drowned in feces and piss. Has he had Art eat a baby or fetus yet, à la D'Amato? Maybe a chimp could smoke a cigarette.

                I've only seen T2, it was okay. I'll get to the others eventually.

                  Good call. That scene is unforgettable. It's made worse by the fact that the girl is so high she has no idea she's being killed and the nonchalant way the gangster pushes her under.

                    The best scenes (for me) weren't the kills. There's a bar scene with Daniel Roebuck (as a Santa) and <unnamed actor> that is so, so good that it reset my "this is meh" meter. The shower scene is both clutch and (likely) destined to be a classic of sorts. And there is some *deeply* disturbing humor that I was shocked the MPA allowed.
                    The bar scene was my favorite part too, was happy to see the <unnamed actor> show up too. As you say, some pretty twisted humor in this one, more so than the other two I think, and I liked that about it but, again, as you say, not enough new elements here to really make it feel like anything but more of the same. I don't regret watching it and there are some fantastic effects and gory kill scenes but I still think there's the potential to make a truly great Art The Clown movie and this one isn't it.

                    • And I'm feeling a tad sheepish. I can't even begin to understand how I forgot that this was (again!) unrated. Doh!

                      </facepalm>
