It did indeed play at BeyondFest, but not as the closer. The crowd was a tad rowdy but not *nearly* what I expected, nor anything approaching the crowd at Devara Pt. 1 (pseudo spiritual follow-up to RRR).
It's just about 125mins. And plays like it. Only problem is that there aren't nearly enough new elements to justify that length.
The best scenes (for me) weren't the kills. There's a bar scene with Daniel Roebuck (as a Santa) and <unnamed actor> that is so, so good that it reset my "this is meh" meter. The shower scene is both clutch and (likely) destined to be a classic of sorts. And there is some *deeply* disturbing humor that I was shocked the MPA allowed.
If you liked the first 2, or even just the second, give it a dance. It won't blow your mind but it's absolutely worth seeing with a crowd. Reasonable expectations are key.

So if this matches projections (which it already seems to be exceeding) will Terrifier 3 be the first unrated movie to hit #1 at the US box office since the '60s?!
Edit: I gather there was some sort of Beyonce movie, and it was unrated.Last edited by Marshall Crist; 10-13-2024, 02:04 PM.
