Wonder how this compares to Echo Bridge's version?

I'm going to assume that this is the extended cut that was on DVD domestically and not some other alternate version with yet more footage in it?

I'm just assuming this is the same version I have of the special edition Dimension put out back in the day, just all blued up. But if the blu looks better than EB, this might be the better version to get. Having said that, is the EB blu shitty, or not? BM said it was coming soon, so, apparently, it's not released yet.

Haven't seen it myself. Blu-ray.com says it's okay. Not wowed by it but that it's ok. No extras though. There's a Canadian release from Alliance too but it's also barebones and with lossless audio, though the screen caps at DVD Beaver look decent.

Run time on the domestic special edition says 108 minutes and the run time on the import, according to BM, says it's the same.

Still curious about this version. Will have to keep tabs on it so when I go regionless.

The Alliance one is decent and can be had real cheap if you don't get the Steelbook version of the disc. I think I paid 8 bucks for mine. Held onto the DVD release just because it's got the feature-length doc, but I watch that about once every 10 years anyway.

A facebook friend from the UK told me this new German version is NOT uncut, it's missing 2 minutes. So, a NOT buy then. Will have to keep that Alliance version in mind then.

The Alliance version has lossy audio though, doesn't it? I'd be curious to know if it's got the same transfer as the Echobridge disc.

As I recall, the soundtrack is lossless, but I'll check that out when i get home.

The DVD Beaver review says DTS 5.1, not DTS-HD 5.1, but it could be a typo.

It is indeed DST 5.1, lossy. It's a pretty decent lossy DTS, but DTS nonetheDTLess.

Thanks for the confirmation. I think I'm just gonna bite and get the US Blu-ray. It's cheap enough...

So for $7.99, the Echobridge Double Feature isn't bad. It would have been nice to at least get some trailers, and that didn't happen, you just get a lousy menu and that's it - BUT - you can't beat the price, the transfers are good (better than I expected) and the lossless DTS-HD tracks aren't bad either. This isn't a reference quality release by any stretch but for eight bucks... yeah, I'm happy with it.

Kay. So oddly enough, I just popped in the Alliance version of this, and you get the option for English DTS-HD MA 5.1. I think it's because it doesn't have a main menu, just a pop-up menu. But the pop-up does allow you to choose a lossless track.

Still barebones, but life goes on.
