  • DEATH SHIP (1980) Coming To DVD!

Scorpion Releasing is putting it out. All they have up on their website at the moment is cover art and a synopsis. It's located under the Horror/Suspense category. Hope they go all out on the extras; the overseas DVD is loaded.

This is a pretty rad movie, loads of atmosphere and a fun performance from Kennedy. I'm surprised it took this long to get an R1 release but Scorpion have got a really solid track record in my book, I look forward to this one.

Never saw this. For some reason cable never aired it. All I vaguely recall is a commercial for a movie about a haunted ship that always scared the shit out of me when it came on. I suspect this is that movie, and since then have always wanted to see it. Will most definitely be buying it.

The whole thing is up on youtube in parts for some reason, but don't spoil it, wait for a good presentation. Dig the trailer instead.

I don't watch movies on my computer. I'm old school, I prefer to watch them on an actual TV, in a room, with the lights out, and my cordless headphones on. I can only tolerate watching trailers and featurettes and music videos on a computer.

I'm the same way, but replace cordless headphones with a surround sound system.

I'm with you guys, with the occasional exception that on the rare occasion my wife falls asleep before I do, I like to fire up the iPad in bed with the earbuds in and watch me some Netflix or YouTube. I watched a bit of "Black Belly of the Tarantula" last night before I fell asleep myself (love the Morricone soundtrack to this one).

Back to "Death Ship", I'm surprised I'm not familiar with this one. But, George Kennedy and Richard Crenna on a spooky ship in 1980 sounds like too good a scenario to pass up.

I emailed Walter asking him when he thinks he'll be releasing DEATH SHIP and what the extras might be. Hope he replies.

Only saw this once via a dvd-r I made from the vhs. It didn't live up to the hype but seeing it in its OAR may change my mind.

D.S. is one of my favorites. I had the Nucleus dvd then upgraded to the U.S. release. At some point, I'll pick up the bd.

The artwork on the German release is pretty cool.
