Definitely some kind of shady false "oop" thing going on..

I don't see how it's "false" or even remotely shady. When the label has no more copies available, and all copies are in the hands of distributors and retailers (and purchasers), it's out of print. That's how it has always worked, long before Arrow even came into existence. It doesn't matter if Amazon still has 2,000 copies in stock; it's still out of print. "Out of print" does not mean "unavailable to purchase anywhere."

Its designed to make people rush and buy it under false premise of scarcity, that is what I mean. not honest so a bit shady really. anyway like I said it backfired with me as I went and got an alternative version so they lost as sale.

You're late for the party with that one. I 'bought German' back in 2014

However, it's definitely not an Amazon 'exclusive' ;) I popped into my HMV again today to buy Eureka's new NOVOCENTO Blu-ray, and they still had three copies of BRIDE OF RE-ANIMATOR (one more than last time) on the shelves for £17-99. Physical retailers in the UK may have better stocks of this than Amazon (thank heavens).

This often happens with book publishers, they may not have any in stock but lots of copies are out in the stores. The only difference is that book publishers will usually not declare the book out of print since often in the contract once a book is out of print, the rights revert back to the author.

Don't they typically hold some back to deal with damaged product and lost packages. I've seen false scarcity before but I don't think that's the case here.
