I've seen it. It's amusing at first, but - like many recent films - it's almost cloyingly woke.
It also has that other annoying modern trend of making all of the characters super aware of movie cliches, so you're always aware that you're just watching a movie.Last edited by Matt H.; 11-12-2021, 10:40 AM.Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome? Why did you watch it, Max?

"Slumber Party Massacre is a gory, entertaining film with just enough commentary on sexist excuses, the validity of women's voices, and the inherent feminism of the slasher genre." - Amanda Mazzillo (Incluvie)
I was about to rent it on VUDU but this review gave me pause. I appreciate how these issues were handled back in the 80s but I'm so over the heavy-handed, in-your-face way I've seen these issues dealt with in modern films. I've liked a good deal of the modern remakes but I may pass on this. I too would like for the movie cliche aware characters to go away. Its been done to death.

"Shows a man taking a shower. The female director revealed in an interview that she would not include female nudity in order to eliminate the "male gaze" of the original." - IMDB Parents Guide
Wow. Definitely going to pass. I'm going to fire up a couple of slashers full of "male gaze" tonight in protest and yell at those darn kids to get off my lawn. I'm not going waste my time with woke shit.
